If nobody wants your guys, that's a problem.

Congrats to him on getting a chance to lead a club. Been over to Oxford several times and love that campus.

Congratulations to Coach Smiley and his family. Very well deserved, it was a matter of time ISU wouldn’t be able to hold onto him any longer. He’s a great coach and person. We appreciate all he has done for our program and he’s been a key to putting us on the national stage.

He would be the guy you want leading our program if Hannahs would leave.

For sure. Great for Brian and Miami. I’m sure our position to recruit a quality replacement is increasing daily.

Obviously attempting to capitalize off the ISU National PR for his FUTURE employer...scheduling/recruiting.

He's got his hands full...246 RPI was second worst in the MAC while tied for 7th place w/ BOWLING GREEN. Would Hannahs schedule Miami w/ such a poor RPI & non-conference? Thin margin...besides, the Tree's are now the top team in the Midwest.

Congratulations Coach Smiley! My guess is that after this past week, many coaches will be testing the waters.

Congrats coach smiley
I’ve long felt Mitch was the least poachable of our head coaches. Was told the same by numerous people close to him. He and his wife are both ISU grads, his kids are somewhat close by, his wife likes her job, etc. The Smiley news makes me even more confident. I would think Mitch was in the loop the whole time. If he was thinking of leaving I’d think Smiley would be more inclined to try to get the ISU job. My guess is Smiley knew Mitch wasn’t going anywhere and if he wanted a head coaching job he’d have to go somewhere else. In fact it wouldn’t shock me if he wasn’t told to go do a great job and then come back when Mitch retires.

I get some guys trying to transfer up, but like others said, we are a staple Midwest program, and with what’s been accomplished, the program will only get better. Coaches are different on the other hand
