Should be a good trade for both teams. Browns had barely given him the ball this season and the Colts can't run the ball at all. Jury is still out on Richardson, he showed flashes last year but never really was healthy. Hasn't done much of anything this season, but again, hasn't been given the ball much. His health is the key. I could very easily see this deal being better for the Browns in a few years because Richardson can't stay healthy. He has a running style that takes a lot of punishment. Then again, I guess it depends on who the Browns draft with the pick.
I disagree, Richardson is a 3 down back in an NFL that has VERY few of them. He can run the rock, catch it out of the backfield and pass protect. As long as his health is Edge quality, you are looking at the best running threat the colts have seen in a while. Also remember that he is playing on a team that has a passing game now. Guy almost ran for a thousand yards last year with Brandon weeden as his QB and no other offensive threats now he has Andrew luck reggie Wayne and a bevy of deep threats. This trade is perfect for him and makes no sense other than to completely blow up the browns.
And the Trent Richardson era ends........
How could any Colts fan not love this move? If Richardson can stay healthy he's one of the top 5 RB's in the league in my opinion. Now we have him and Bradshaw in the backfield to go with Luck,Wayne,Hilton and the receivers. If we can get the issues on the o-line fixed this team is starting to show some signs of another (Manning,Wayne,Harrison,Edge) in the near future.
