That's the Hulman Center right? Looks so much better having seats on the ends that actually go all the way up.
As opposed to seats that go... where?

HC has always had seating in that design -- didn't they remove ~1,000 of the upper most?

I think he is referring to the behind the basket seating. One end now has tables or some sort of group gathering space I think?

so... phat cat seats w/out phat cats?

w/out razing the place completely - i don't think ISU could have managed a design that include top donor suites... if giving up some seats scratches that itch for the deep pockets, so be it.

ISU isn't swimming in cash, even with the on-campus oil well(s)

Yeah, I don't have any qualms with whatever attempts are made to get people in the building anymore. People keep glossing over the fact that sports attendance has been dropping like a rock and replacement fans are not coming in equal numbers in general. I think the numbers will continue to go down as well -- too many other things vying for discretionary dollars -- if you even have discretionary income to spend, many people just prefer watching at home, etc.

I've seen schools now having all kinds of non-related activities happening. I think when we played Miami last year they had some sort of tables set up in one of the area behind the basket and they were playing board/card games or something. I think I'm remembering that correctly.

I think 96 is noting the difference in the seating now vs then. There is no connection between the bottom section and the upper seats of the bottom section. I think that space is taken up by a ribbon. It looked better last year after the ribbon was installed.
