Really?? Wichita State taking a player from our own back yard! Nonsense I say!!

Have we signed THAT many Vincennes transfers over the years?

Not saying this is a good thing BUT VU has never struck me as a Sycamore feeder school (sadly) for MBB players

The '08 K-Mac/Lansing class had Cutter, Doluony, Richard & Rashad Reed, a VU transfer.

For crap sake, Ragland was HEAD COACH there, wasn't he? Hasn't paid any dividends as far as getting top players from there. Last year, the Shocks picked up Nick Wiggins from VU, too.

Don't read into my post. I'm NOT saying anything bad towards Rags. Just thought we might be a little more competitive for players from there. Nothing else...

Wiggins went to Wabash Valley College after 1 year at VU. VU Head Coach now is a complete jackass.

How can somebody this good be 50 miles from us and they end up going 600 miles away to play? Did we even have a sniff this kid existed?

Vincennes University sophomore Darius Carter, who committed to Wichita State has been named NJCAA Div. I Basketball First-Team All-American

They have another player on that team that made all American third team. Bradley looks to be the front runner for him at this time. Illinois state and Missouri state have already landed quality juco players for next season. Meanwhile we only get juco players who aren't even the first or second best players on their JC teams :angryfit:

Are you serious? We didn't have an opening until a week ago. After seeing Scott and Etherington yesterday, I have no problem with the way our recruiting is going.

Hopefully the Bears land a Juco all-American big! Recently getting involved with Remi Dibo after getting a verbal from his French national team partner.

That's true. We never have done that well with Jucos. I've always thought we should have supplemented our recruiting with JC players, but with the 3 last committments, I think we are doing fine and I like getting Indiana players. We still need to get a big though, and they are hard to get.

We lost 7 of our last 9 games this season and "we didn't have an opening?"
Our only freshman played what, 5 minutes the whole year, and his future as a Tree was inevitable . Then came the ganja lights lineup...just love the "opportunism" of this staff.

You're right. At the end of every year we should cut each freshman that doesn't average at least ten minutes a game, 6 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists. I'm sure once all the top high school players in Indiana and neighboring states see that we mean business and will cut everyone who doesn't perform, those 17 year old kids will be falling all over themselves to sign letters of intent with Indiana State.

Every time another school gets someone in the hemisphere you say we should have gotten him, even though we can only sign 2-4 per year. You have great hindsight even though you can't see in front of your face.

If you had seen Scott and Etherington yesterday and McIntosh this year, you would be in the clouds today. Our recruiting is doing fine -- even without your help.

Our recruiting overall is just fine. Better than just fine actually. Scott, Etherington, and Mcintosh (especially him) are all major gets. I still have faith in Bell and Gant and K.Smith were good gets as well. I was referring to our JC recruiting. We need to nab one or two quality JC guys every couple of years to be successful in the valley IMO. We seem to have struck out on the real impact JC guys. That's all I am saying.

Guys, relationships. The Shocker staff has probably been on him for awhile and we would have just got involved, had we even needed a wing in the first place. We landed Brenton Scott months ago. We have been full, like it or not, up until Rhett was not renewed and RJ decided to transfer. I think the staff worked quickly to land Etherington, who was thought highly enough to commit to Weber at Kansas State and be recruited by Alford at New Mexico. With our last scholarship we didn't need another wing, we need a big.

Right, but if we operated with Crean's ethics this would not be an issue.:freaked:
