Why didn't he shoot more than one time?

I wish I had an answer for that.

1. Lack of confidence.

2. Coaching - he didn't play a heck of a lot under 10 min to go.

3. He did get the last shot of the game - all-be-it a poor one, certainly not his fault as I woulda have drawn up a play

I'm not the coach - don't ask me. But Cummings hasn't been the most liked guy around these parts. I've protected him all I can - he played well tonight. But don't ask me why he didn't have more of a precense late in that game.

He has been a non factor for months in everyone's eyes - I didn't quit on him.

He's been a non factor prior to the Wichita State game because he was shooting 18 percent from 3 and he wasn't doing much besides jacking them up.

His stroke has slowly come around and he's put together two nice games. He's raised it to 24% in the last 4 games by going 6-11 (54.5%) but even more impressive has been his driving and not settling for jumpers. That said, while he had 16 tonight, he was probably net even in the first half. There were several times he didn't close out and gave up points. He needs to get more consistent defensively and he will get more PT.

Not about getting more PT. Eitel was half ass below average tonight and that's being nice. Your only other optilns were Brown and Cummings - both make mistakes from time to time. Neither cost us this game.

I don't think anyone on this site has given up on him. In my case it has been your getting on Brown, and alas Brown has not been stellar in all his play. But we can all be critical of every player on this team, including Odum, Lansing et al. We have a very solid when we get good shooting from 3 players and adequate play from the bench offensively and defensively. I thought K. Smith would have been that player but he has not and I am not down on him. It is just going to take a little longer time for him to get there and I am confident he will will. As others have pointed out last night we failed to adequately switch back to better match ups. I also saw Kitchell switch down low to pick up a driving guard or forward but no one switched to pickup his man or get in front of him. Eitel did shoot a quick shot before the end of the first half but he is not at fault for losing the game, there other critical plays throughout the game too, we lost as a team.
