Did any of you guys go?
Wife and I went to the Inauguration Gala dinner last night. All proceeds went to the Mike Phillips Student Emergency Fund. As gala dinners go they did a good job. The highlight of the night was when they announced the dollar amount raised by the gala. The last two years they only distributed 3-4K in emergency student assistance. Last night they raised $41,000. There’s ISU alumni/friends money out there folks!
Deb Curtis strikes me as a Type A (the good qualities) that will genuinely enjoy spending time off-campus promoting ISU and developing relationships statewide and nationwide—which I like. We have enough (too many) VPs, Associate VPs, Assistant to the VP, etc. that can mind the store while she’s out working the big donors, CEO’s, and politicians.
They’re also throwing around a new slogan. “Indiana State University is the State of Indiana’s University.” I like that too.
Of course, she’s still in the honeymoon period. Let’s see where we are in 2-3 years.
Great. That slogan doesn’t exactly flow off the tongue though. I’ve heard nothing but good about her so far.
I concur with most of what you've said.Wife and I went to the Inauguration Gala dinner last night. All proceeds went to the Mike Phillips Student Emergency Fund. Yeah. I don't know if they're actually gonna use it publicly for marketing or if it's just a cliche for speeches but I like it.
