Iona has two games before we face them next week. They're 9th in the nation averaging almost 90ppg and 46th in the country shooting 46% from the floor. Thankfully we've got a week before the game to work out some more kinks.

This is the Bracketbuster return game.

Your nicer than me... I'm a dick

Yes, yes you are. Sorry about not texting you back last night. I left my phone charging in my Explorer and didn't see it until 9:45 when I was heading back to Indy. One of these days I'm coming up and we're going drinking and making fun of anyone and everyone in the Haute wearing other school clothing.

Does anyone know the story on Bennett? I think he had 6 assists the last game didn't he? I thought he was progressing.

They didn't want him to inbound the ball so the only solution they could come up with was to sit his ass on the bench??

Seems like they could have maybe come up with a better solution, guess not.

Iona could be the team we're needing to play.....a little "run and gun" should be right up our alley......if they want to run...let's run.....our half court offense certainly isn't getting it done....

Gotta finish at the rim.How many layups have we missed? Do we ever feed the post that leads to a shot more than 4 times a game?

I still contend we feed our big men the wrong way. Each big guy that is playing has different skill sets.

Does anyone remember one time where we've actually hit the front end of a one and one free throw this year?? Of all the games I've attended or watched on Sycamorevision, I can't recall us actually making one..........which is pretty sad.....

Of all the maddening aspects of this year's team, this one is way high on the list.

And I forget who, but I was watching a game this season and the color commentator mentioned that missing the front end of a one and one should be counted as a turnover...not sure I disagree.

Sorry to disagree. I contend feeding our big men is the wrong idea. They don't know what the hell to do with it.

And I'll disagree with you.

If you feed Kitch about 2 feet outside the lane on the low block, he has a very nice jumper there that's good out to 12 feet. He's hit that consistently for 2-3 years now.

I've said it numerous times that you need to feed Gant where he can instantly face up. All of his highlight reel plays are face up plays yet we continue to try to have him post traditionally.

Finally, TJ Bell lacks a shot so he would be the traditional back to the basket guy.

It's all about really watching the guys over the course of their careers and seeing what their strengths are and then figuring out how to get them the ball where they can call on those strengths. Further, our 2FG% is markedly higher than our overall or 3FG% which says the exact opposite -- they should take the ball out of the guards hands as much as possible. Jake Kitchell has almost the same A/TO as Tre Bennett and is better than any other guard.

Totally agree. Our free throw shooting by everyone is maddening. I contend that our missing so many free throws has kept some games closer than they should have been and kept us from staying in other games. I think at this point it's in their head when they go to the line. I'm hoping this week off gets everybody recharged, refocused and ready to go.

I have watched Jake Kitchell in college and high school; believe me he's not the answer to any of our offensive problems. Division I b-ball is too fast for him.
