from reading the story....it was more a case of wanting to try to play at a Division I school rather than I-AA....the kid's name is Chad Spann and he is a junior....which means that he came out during the Lou West regime at Indiana State.....

I haven't read the article, but good for us for offering the kid a scholarship when no one else would.

Why come to a school where you have no hope of winning. Sorry, but losing is one thing, being terrible is another. We are consistently terrible! Terrible!!!

You should tone it down Bent! Who are you directing your venting at? The players (all of the players?). The coaches? The AD? I think the defensive side of this team is competetive each and every week. I know several of those players are on this board regularly. I think reading your comments about them being terrible really makes their day. Maybe you should line up against them some Saturday??

At this point, it's not a sure thing they could beat a team from the message board.

i'm curious about the mentality of the existing players. is it a I don't give a $%^#? or are they disappointed in their play, conditioning, etc? like to have insight into their locker room, meetings after the meeting, etc.

From what I saw last night, your defense never gave up. Your coaches never gave up. Your offense? They gave up.

I know from talking to players that the defense has started to become a little tired of the offensive production. I don't think it is a "locker room divided"" type situation right now but it is being addressed amongst players. The defense has nothing to be ashamed about. The offense has to start to make plays that is the bottom line.

If anyone watched the Dolphins/Colts game it was very similar to what the ISU games. Everytime they showed Dwight Freeney he looked exausted and beat. Their issue was that their offense answered too quickly versus our lack of production. We simply have a offensive depth issue. When our QB struggles we have inexperienced players to turn too, and it is the same accross the board on offense. Nothig we can do this year to change that. They just need to have some pride in themselves and continue to give everything they can. I still see us winning a game or two this year.
