Feel comfortable putting this out there now as Clink just mentioned it on the radio with JMV, but Indiana State will be announcing the Elevate campaign on May 19th. This is the first athletics fundraising campaign and will have several key initiatives. Definitely be ready for that and to open your checkbooks up.

Basically, Clink is doing what we've questioned and begged for years now. If we want better programs, better facilities and better results, we need to step up and do our part to elevate our programs. Sycamore athletics are our common bond and winning while graduating athletes is the shared ideal. It's up to all of us to make that a reality.

Once JMV's lackeys over at 107.5 throw up his segment with Clink, it will be available here: http://www.1070thefan.com/theridewithjmv

yep. We branched out and did the Official Fifty Shades of Gray" Wine and the Official "Downton Abbey" wine and sales went through the roof. Had 2 major players interested and then when the two previously mentioned franchises started to peter out, all the bidders wanted to downwardly revise their offers... so I am still left hanging. It sucks being the minority partner when two of the other three partners are millionaires. Plus our contract with Pink Floyd ended and because they all hate each others guts, we couldn't get any of them to agree on terms. I have no idea what the fuck I'm doing sometimes - not a business man - just a poor boy from 17th and Crawford.

Man, that does stink. Good luck on that. Really enjoyed the label art you posted on LinkedIn. Also thought it was a pretty smart niche.

Thanks 'Boda. the business part is frustrating, but I have been able to work with some interesting people. The Eagles are assholes (except for Joe Walsh), Keith Richards is a (smart) hoot, Sting is a an incredibly nice guy, Lady Gaga is scary smart, and David Bowie was a really nice and interesting person. One of these days we'll have to meet up at a tailgate and I'll share some stories....

Jason, or anyone else who knows, will this be something we can expect to get literature on through the mail requesting donations, or do we need to visit a website? Im a Varsity Club member so I would assume I would get something via mail or email but wasnt sure what to look for or when. Any info is appreciated.

The picture in #9 is their literature. I would also assume a website will be a part of the collection efforts.

On or after May 19th in terms of date.

Got invite to the ISU vs Wichita baseball game and tailgate on the 19th via the mail. Will include information about elevating Sycamore Athletics too.

Yep, got the invite but I have to be back in Terre Haute Saturday so I won't be able to make it. If anyone from here does attend, please give a recap.

I hope the "key initiatives" include hitting up alumni of all the ISU sports programs...and hitting them up hard. Especially the football and basketball alums, whom I assume were the beneficiaries of more scholarship aid than anyone in the other sports programs. As a T&F/XC alum, I have been making restricted contributions to those two programs for years, and I always wonder how many other sports alums do the same for their respective teams. (The donor lists are not always an accurate reflection of who gives and at what level.)

It's only my opinion, but this is where I think it has to start. I don't see how fans can be expected to financially support the athletic programs if the athletes who actually participated and benefited are not giving back.

Good point but be independent and give what you can if you have the ability to do so no matter who is not giving.

maybe Jason can tweet this out on the SycamorePride twitter account and we can all retweet it.

I assume it's on Facebook as well right? I haven't been on there for 3 years, so hopefully it's promoted all over social media.
