The depiction looks like a good model--hard to tell what the capacity would be, but maybe around 12,000-14,000 or maybe smaller? Something like that seems doable, but it's all about donor money.

The link states this is a 10,000 seat stadium. This is similar to what I had in mind but smaller. I can handle this - looks like it can easily be expanded if ever needed. Looks like this school might have similar demographics? I would think the price tag is doable with some hard fund raising work, but what do I know? This looks better than SIU Saluki Stadium.

I'm guessing the price includes all of those buildings surrounding it. If so, would we really need all of those right away? Would that help reduce the cost by $5-6M?

I like the way it looks. I'm not sure we need a horseshoe though. I like my high seats.

Lets start a go fund me page.

We ABSOLUTELY need a 'Horseshoe' or CLASSIC Bowl design.

Nothing looks more pedestrian, low-rent than 75 rows of seats on one side of the 'stadium' and 20 rows on the opposing side.

If we ever build a NEW football (multi-purpose) stadium between 3rd street and The Wabash River, for Pete's sake, MAKE IT SYMMETRICAL.

A sunken bowl design would be great, not sure it's possible in that area but regardless... either a symmetrical bowl OR a symmetrical horseshoe, open to the scenic Wabashiki Wildlife Area.

In reading two of the big supporters of the ETSU Stadium... I HOPE someone has pinged Sean Payton for a bit of scratch for the new stadium... I HOPE someone has pinged Thad Matta for some cheese for the Hulman Center project

Maybe I've thrown this idea out before but I think it would be cool to build a stadium with the grandstand/home/pressbox/suite side on the west side and be OVER 1st st/railroad. then part of, or more press box facing the new track with stands coming off the back side. lots of glass would make them look good from 3rd/41.

Given our finances... I have to believe any new football stadium will be a multi-purpose stadium

What is the school's ability to 'sell suites' given our weekly home attendance of ~5,000 on average?

I assumed that was a given...at least for the time being.

as far as suites, without them, we would sell zero. I attribute much of our attendance problems to weather anyway. If somehow we got a dome, id bet we would have low attendance games of 7k

edit: plus werent we talking about suites at Hulman Center? they averaged 300 per game more last year.

Hard to say... are they talking full-blown suites in Hulman OR 'club seating'?

Full-blown suites... very private, normally has a mini-kitchen and private bathroom...
Club Seating... open, bigger/better seats, food service via wait staff

for a football stadium, i was more thinking of just a casual indoor area. im not a high roller so i dont know what they are like anywhere else.

I agree that the horseshoe or oval stadium is more appealing visually and gives more options for the marching band to be visible to more people so they can be a better part of the ISU college football presentation.
I just don't see why we can't manage multiple fundraising projects at the same time. Maybe ISU is doing it and we just don't know it? Also, I just don't believe ISU can't raise 5-8 million from alumni to start this thing. The stadium listed in this thread is pretty nice and reasonable.

I know what you're describing --- I think that is an easier 'sell' than private suites --- given the fan base, $$$ and FCS football.

I think we need to pay for design, engineering for a future stadium of ~25,000-30,000-seats BUT only build a ~10,000 seat SYMMETRICAL stadium.

PLAN for the future but BUILD what is NEEDED today.

Given what some BIG FBS programs are experiencing with actual IN-STADIUM game attendance, we need to be pragmatic in our approach.

Yea... all the fancy dancy buildings on the exterior may not be needed. Maybe just a couple buildings for offices, a conference room or two, press room, meeting room, athletic training area, and of course locker rooms. Regarding suites, probably could do without but have expansion ability to add easily. Question: If ISU had a few luxury suites could they sell them? I think they probably could. I can think of a few groups that likely would buy them. But we could still do without them if needed. Suites are just one of those things... if you have nice ones people want to be a part of it. It's a nice experience to sit in a climate controlled area watching a game with nice food, drinks, and company - with ability to step outside to watch. A classy press box on top is expected.

As far as selling suites. I asked how much the ones at Chattanooga were and they were so expensive i couldnt fathom ever affording one. I realize the areas are different but id bet they would be easy to sell. Getting people to show up in the cold to sit outside? Not sure how that would go
