Luna will win, but shes overrated... I am going with the walk on based on last night nights performance! That was enough for me to know who I like.

"Luna is overrated". hahahahahaha Just when have you watched this team? One game does not make a player. If you have watched Luna the last 4 years you would know that she is the COMPLETE player on and off the court. What a stupid comment to make about her. She brings it each and every game-not just against one of the bottom teams in the conference. You definitely need to watch alot more games to make a stupid comment like that.

You sound like someone that has just recently watched a couple of games.
That's one of the more ridiculous things that I have ever read about the women's team.:jawdrop:

"Kelsey Luna's overrated" Haaaaaaaaa! Try having the opposing teams best player guard you every single game, have game plans centered around you, and the majority of your teams offense reliant on you.

LOL! Naaa I have been going to womens games for years, well when I say years I mean since the days of Mel and Kristen and those gals, you know when womens basketball really became relevant in this city.

Don't take my post so serious man, I don't like people that are main stream that everyone cheers for ok (i.e Luna)... I was a huge fan of guys like Stinson, Eric Gray both guys who didn't even graduate from Indiana State and were disliked because they shot the ball an astounding number of times. I am the biggest Chris Webber fan you will ever know, the thing is I have to argue with people why Chris Webber was not overrated. With someone like Luna I don't have to worry about it, because everyone loves her.... She doesn't need me!

Everyone is a fan of Luna and rightfully so, I have seen her play enough the last 4 years to realize shes a good player. If she had a little better supporting cast and didn't have to do everything she would be really tough. The way it is now the opponent puts a larger defender on her and she has trouble getting her shot off because she does not have astounding speed.

I said my vote was based on one game, I liked what I saw... I didn't say that it was based off anything else. So if you want to form an assumption based on a post of mine again in the future, understand that you will be wrong again in the future.

Oh boy, I have awoken the Indiana State womens basketball love affair, the oddest group of fans in womens basketball, maybe in all of sports... LOL! For gosh sakes I wasn't being serious, seeing as how I didn't expand on my point of saying she was overrated. I followed it with a vote for someone who is underrated and won't receive a bunch of votes. Hopefully you all can understand this, instead of acting like a bunch of baffoons...

I love it when people who have made a combined 48 posts get on here and freak out... I am so perplexed at the moment... The point is Luna is the easy vote she doesn't need my vote (thus she is overrated) in the sense that everyone will vote for, which hasn't really happened. But you all being so supportive of her on and off the court (give me a break) gives me a great opportunity to support someone else who needs some fandomonium around them...

I am pretty sure bkinsey will understand the angle I took with this... At least I am looking forward to his response to my comments. Maybe I should have been more clear in the first place.

Hey, I showed the WBB team love in the banners. If I could have found some decent women's track photos, I would have added them, too. I've reached out to the WVB team to get involved on the site and they refused. We've got a handful of WBB players and WTF players that read the boards here.

Haha well I do see your point and understand, but I would definitely have to go along with everyone else and say Luna. She is one of the smartest all around players I have ever seen. She can read defenses and create shots as good as anyone. And she has done it while being the shortest girl on the floor in every game of her collegiate career. But Morgan, I do see why you would pick someone else.

I know for a fact that three current Lady Sycs monitors the board weekly and one of them posts from time to time. Morgan we have been agreeing way to much lately but to say Luna is overrated is pretty far out there even from you my friend..lol...

As far as my favorite it's hard to list just one because I'm getting to know several of them pretty well and it's a great bunch of girls donning the ISU blue. I have to admit I'm a HUGE fan of Taylor Whitley however....great girl and is going to have a very bright future at State.

My Top 3:

1. Whitley
2. Hodge
3. Buher/tied with Krista after last nites game :)

That is some seriously faulty logic.. or vocabulary... not sure which.

No one can use the term over-rated and Kelsey Luna in the same sentence in regard to ISU Basketball team.

She has good enough speed, we just don't run enough screens to get her open shots... and she is too much of a good teammate to want the offense to go through her hands like that. She was always a point guard... spreading the wealth.

Her shot isn't as quick as Schoen's, but really... who's is? Men or Women, that is the quickest shot I have seen in a VERY long time.

I didnt want the same thing to happen to one of the young women that is happening to poor Josh Crawford so i voted for someone who had no votes. I like them all

Probably faulty logic, but that's just the way I am and I can truly become defend a player (i.e Chris Webber) so much that I can fall in love with them... lol It's so easy to argue why Luna is a good player and all this, that's so darn simple it's not any fun for me. I would much rather argue why she is overrated (she's not) while arguing why I voted for Smith.

The poll asks who is your favorite women's basketball player and from a favorite perspective (strictly) she is overrated. How many different angles shall I take? Smith is underrated, she is not going to get to many votes. All I was saying is her effort last night won her my vote.

Always knocking people without a lot of posts....

There's a common theme on this board...those of us who don't live on here and post 2,000 posts a year are ridiculed and our thoughts are belittled because we don't post? Perhaps we just pick our moments to throw our two cents in instead of acting like the "know-it-alls" that some on this board do!

Also, you want more people to visit and contribute to the board, yet when they disagree with your opinion, you throw their "newness" in their face. :krazy:

Maybe you should post less and actually read and think more. Just a thought!

Ridiculous Post

Why would anyone, let alone a moderator criticize someone for posting on this board (no matter how many posts someone has posted)? Do you want people to continue to post on this site?

Sycamore Sam, I'm right there with you. I know exactly why they do it: Because they do not have a legitimate argument to respond with and are so entrenched in their own self-importance that they lash out as best they can. They know more because they post more....that's the logic.

Welcome to Sycamore Pride! LOL

Then you probably should have expanded on it. Sarcasm and other action/emotion is very difficult to track online, especially on message boards. Additionally, I think you could substitute passionate for odd because the women's game always seems to have more die hards at them.

I did get your point, but you should have just said that. Also, we've got some lurkers here that have made but a few posts yet have more State sports knowledge then the whole remaining lot will ever have. So, I don't think the number of posts has anything to do with another member's knowledge or worth.

Just because a poster does not have alot of posts doesn't mean they haven't been involved with the forum. It probally hits a nerve with alot of them when someone says a player that has so many honors and is playing her heart out is OVERRATED. Like posted before she has every teams best player on her and rightly so. She is an experienced senior and by far the best player on the team. So I am wondering why all these teams we play are after her and defending her so well since she is OVERRATED. No matter who your favorite player is and at what game you attended and who hustled the most you still said she was OVERRATED. Good confidence booster for a kid that probally reads this forum.
