It's really a game you'd think we should win........how many of their starting 5 would be starting for us.....one perhaps??

HOUSE THAT MARTY BUILT

LOL - McCutchan could coach circles around him. Of course back then, he had a "cloud of smoke" and 12,000 fans to add character to his "house." Similar to Johny Wooden in LA, he'll never be replaced in E-ville hoop lore.

So this is a game on paper we should win, but it's still a conference road game on Evansville's Senior Day. Judging from our first game against Evansville, I expect another close one.

The interesting thing about this weekend's games are that the projected 7-10 seeded schools all play each other (ISU vs. Evansville and Drake vs. Bradley). I'm not going to bother to look at how the seeding would work depending on the outcomes, but let's just say there could be rematches to both games next Thursday.

We have a chance to finish anywhere from 7th to 10th depending on if we win on Saturday. Personally, I'd rather we finish 8th or 9th so we can avoid WSU on Friday (Illinois State is projected as the #1 seed, WSU #2). We still don't have much of a chance against Illinois State, but we at least have a fighting chance. WSU will beat us by 20+.

I think to avoid WSU we need to lose. My pick is UNI over ILL state

Definitely a lot of variables at play, but I think if we win we most likely finish 7th and if we lose we most likely finish 10th. Certainly the outcomes of the WSU and Illinois State games will determine a lot, but if they both win Illinois State should finish #1 due to their higher RPI. It'll be fun to see how it all shakes out today.

I'll be at the game today with my Dad... hoping for a good one. Only other game I attended this year was Loyola at Terre Haute and that wasn't pretty. Go Trees!

This is how I see our seeding will work depending on today's outcome:

Indiana State over Evansville:
7th seed if Drake beats Bradley
8th seed if Bradley beats Drake

Evansville over Indiana State:
10th seed if Drake beats Bradley
9th seed if Bradley beats Drake

If Wichita and Illinois State win:
Illinois State: 1 seed (based on higher RPI)
Wichita State: 2 seed

If Wichita wins and Illinois State loses:
Wichita State: 1 seed
Illinois State: 2 seed

If Wichita loses and Illinois State loses:
It will depend on how each teams RPI is affected.

The winner of the 7/10 game will play the 2 seed at 6:00 PM EST Friday.
The winner of the 8/9 game will play the 1 seed at 1:00 PM EST Friday.

Dutchman's dad must've flown back to Holland...back to normal!

As always, GL letting the opposition dictate STRATEGY by playing 4 guards. Put Bell & Rickman in TOGETHER and let 'em kick a lil' ace!

I'll take an ugly game on the road. Doesn't matter to me. I'd just like for them to fix the annoying shot clock problem. It's really disrupting the flow of the game.

Actually have no problem with scott coming off the bench. Might as well try it.. He clearly hasnt been himself this yr starting and might get into a better groove this way..think doyle last yr for Loyola. He was struggling more than scott is and porter had him play starter mins but came off the bench for the rest of the yr .. he played much better.

Agreed. It worked against UNI. Scott probably had his most efficient game of the year scoring 14 points on 50% shooting. Might as well see if it sparks something by trying it again.

We're shooting 25% from the field so far. Just terrible.

Barn burner...just let the horses out! Sycs avg. a point per minute so far - GL must've spent the night in Loogootee studying JACK BUTCHER'S playbooks! At least he was always on the HIGH end.
