Hope to know soon where the annual "Signing Day" festivities will take place....

Waiting patiently for the powers that be to let me know.

Since it's like Christmas it would be nice to get the announced signees plus a couple of really nice surprises,

Would be, but I think we might have received our Christmas presents early this year with the announcements regarding the QB transfers.

Yea we did have a lot graduate, we also became fully funded this year giving Trent more scholarship money than we've ever had. However we also likely have a few guys who need another semester or year to graduate. This becomes a problem when you start true freshmen. There's some odd rule that limits what Trent can do with those kids because they are out of eligibility. Not exactly sure how it works, but it limits how many new players he can bring in because these kids are still using scholarship money. In other words.... we have more money, but not sure how big the graduation issue is as far as bringing in replacements.

Scholarships

I believe that NCAA allows FCS schools with 63 full scholarships. It can be divided up into partials or halves.

Given the number that we have brought in through transfers...I wouldn't look for a very big recruiting class in 2012. Last years recruits were at 31 I believe.

I look forward to last years RSFr to step up...some fantastic athletes in this class. We may see a lot of them stepping up and starting next year.

Right now we've got 9 known commits with 6 of them being instate kids. I will be interested to see where we fall as well. Other 3 kids are from Illinois. This doesn't count the already announced transfers.

Next Weekend will be the last Weekend...

...prior to signing day. Any word on commitments (verbal) from recruits last weekend?

In my opinion, we need some BIG BIG lineman...both, offensively and defensively. From the standpoint of the future...

Signing Day Event at Hulman Center

Football signing day event: Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012. 5 p.m., Sycamore Varsity Room at Hulman Center.

The public is invited to attend.

If I am correct actually if memory serves me wasn't there a problem with this event last year and the public really only meant varsity club members? I am not 100% sure but I seem to remember people on here pissed about it .

I was told open to the public, so I thought that meant everybody.

But I'll check.

Go to the west side of Hulman Center

According to ISU officials, the west entrance open for the signing event. But they hope people will be staying for the men's basketball game that night as well.

The Sycamores sent out a release Wednesday night.....

reminding everyone that fans dont have to have a ticket to the basketball game in order to attend the football signing event. Just go into the west door and then take the stairs down to the Sycamore Varsity Club room.

You need to check out the recruiting forum. Was nice to see another big OT recruit. And three DTs.
