First 1st Team Football Academic All America in 39 Years

I was going to wait for the gosycamores site to put this on here, but I couldn't wait. Alex Sewall was named today to the CoSIDA Capital One Division 1 All Academic 1st team. This is a big honor for him, and a culmination of all of the hard work he's put in over the last 4 years in helping to regain the respect of the Sycamore football program. Dan Millington and Ryan Patrick were recent 2nd team honorees (2009 and 2007), and then it goes back to Eric Christianson (1991, 2nd team) and Jeff Miller in (1985, 2nd team) before going back to the early '70's with Gary Brown and Mike Eads, who were both 1st team honorees (This is based on the historical info provided on the CoSIDA web site, which I don't know how complete and accurate it is). Regardless, quite an honor for Alex and the Sycamore football program!

Congratulations to Alex for this well deserved honor. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the entire Sewall family as they provided support for Alex during some very stressful times at ISU. My hat is off to Alex and his family as well as the Sycamore football family. Alex Sewall demonstrates excellence at it's very best.
