Southern Illinois hands down, a friend of mine that I went to school with since preschool here in Terre Haute plays backup tight end for Southern, Kyle Harruff. He would always make an effort to come watch me run and cheer for me when we were running for MVC indoor track and field titles at Southern. He's got my back and I got his back for sure!

BOOOOOOOO!!!!

j/k :):):)

All of them for starters. I'm an MVC fan. If I have to rank them:

I like UNI, but they'd probably be second to SDSU, but well ahead of SIU. My reason: I have a buddy who is a diehard Iowa fan and he was convinced after the close game against UNI (which I so badly wanted to see UNI win) that UNI was some freak of nature team and just that much better than the rest of the IAA competition. UNI is great, but I had to keep reminding him that the MVC was tough. It kind of proved my point when UNI lost to SIU and SDSU. Of course I'm also an Iowa fan, so it's all relative. Either way, good luck! Make your MVC brothers proud!

aahah sorry buddy and to be really honest I would cheer for UNI last of all of those teams even if I didn't have a conflict of interest. Seeing as how I competed against UNI in track and field for 4 years, they were pretty much our top conference rival in track. They really have a great program, but it's the main reason I refuse to cheer for them - because they used to beat us! lol Is that a good enough reason!

Good answers, guys. I hope there are plenty of Valley team left throughout the playoffs. We'll all be in the same bracket, likely, so we could be knocking each other out.

UNI, because every time I have met one of their fans they have been a class act and very friendly....unlike some of the white trash from carbondale.

Nov 22 for the pairings, with the games starting Nov 28. Good luck to all the MVFC teams that make it in, and Cap'n, hopefully UNI's past success in the playoffs and near miss last season gets you in with a decent pairing!

Uni

I have pulled for UNI every year in the playoffs. I felt for them last year when Richmond squeaked by. The past four seasons, I have been on the opposite end of a couple blowouts from UNI, but they have always played with class and their fans are some of the most loyal and classy in the Valley. Not like NDSU where there are middle aged men and women saying racial slurs and derogatory remarks to the 19-22 year old kids on the sideline. Or SDSU who continues to throw the ball with 2 minutes left in the 4th quarter while holding a 40 point lead. They do everything the right way, and it shows. Role-model program for any school in the nation. Go Panthers, hope y'all get in and win it all.

Finally basketball season has arrived. Are there still teams playing football?

GO SYCAMORES!

Interesting insight on the dakota schools. The few fans we've had visit here from their programs have been cool.
