Come on...it went well with the "Hippie Era," didn't it? As I thumbed thru the pages, I couldn't believe some of the clothing styles - in retrospect, I think that drug use was GREATER than most people thought!

BTW, hope the "Chief" didn't step on any hot coals while fanning the flames for that Homecoming portrait!
I truly believe that you are totally right on the drug use. I might have gone to Penn State, where it was prevalent so I am glad I went to the midwest where it wasn't. I thought it was almost non-existant around me but in later years, I found out I was OH SO WRONG. In 1971. I NEVER saw it in my house, honestly. (Could it be they were hiding it since I was an officer?) Man was I blind? The following year, it was everywhere. Like the song says, "Those were the Days, my Friend"!

1970 Grad amd my memory of the demise of the CMU agrees with Southern Illinois being the culprit. They thought hey were much better than he other r members and had the success in baseball, basketball, gymnastics, etc to back it up. CMU and EMU were rumored to be joining and switched when Southern bailled out. ISU dallied and got left behind kind of like many thought some of the Big 12 were going to get left behind. ISU in the late 60's and early 70's was a much different school athletically and academically than the modern version. Poor administrative decisions have plagued ISU ever since.

All the blame on State's administration or does the state of Indiana bear some for formalizing/chartering iupui?
