That's all well and good, and I agree, but other than a brief run by Carter and a solid game from Richard, who else showed any signs of being able to help? The rest of the team seems incapable of taking a shot from inside the three point line.

And more importantly for me their teammates need to be able to trust them. You don't turn the ball over 8 times in division 1 basketball and and be considered trustworthy... Simply put, 8 turnovers is unacceptable.

Kelly and Lathan combined for 13 of our 18 turnovers. That is not going to win us many games when our leading scorers are turning the ball over that much. They need to pass the ball more often to get the other guys going. The only way the other guys can be trustworthy is if they get the ball to make something happen, instead of just Kelly and Lathan.

Yep. -Everyone- needs to be trustworthy and to believe everyone else is, too. They need to build that trust somehow.

Mahurin needs to start knocking down his shots and so does Martin. I think we will play a little better once we get Printy back as he is a threat from beyond the arc.

Player "Hotspot" Recognition

This idea of "trust" would be a moot issue if the players recognized each other's court "hotspots"...players have certain moves and operate more efficiently in selected areas. We seem to ignore this fact, and honky dorily go about our "motion."

RJ shooting .400 on 3's is definitely not a problem.

We have big issues though, and Lansing has to fix it NOW. We cannot run a good TEAM offense when you have two players that want to drive on the other team's group picture. The bench showed the starters how to play against OC by moving the ball and 2 of the starters did not learn. You have to move the ball to create driving lanes. Crossover dribbles do not create driving lanes.

What motion. The ball stops when it gets in Kelly's or Lathan's hands. We have two players playing alley ball.

That's true. Even our open shots were rushed. I think you have to give PU some credit. They are an excellent defensive team. I would not expect a decent mid-major team to shoot the lights out against them.
