about having to go to the game, http://blogs.tribstar.com/downinthevalley/?p=433

I can't say that I disagree with him here, he took an awfully aggressive stance against the MVC and the University. If most people take such an aggressive stance on this board they are usually told not so pleasantly to refrain from such discussions. But all I have to say is good for Todd Golden, not that they will read it, not that they will care - they being Indiana State. You know they probably don't expect people to come to the games anyway. Why am I not surprised that they have turned their head to this? Local hospitals activated disaster plans but this is Indiana and we play basketball regardless of what else is going on in the world.

Simply put, this game should not be played in the face of what is the worst ice storm that I have seen in my 25 years of life. But good Lord willing I will be in the HC tonight, because dammit I was born a Sycamore and I will die a Sycamore. I aint missing this college basketball game tonight, Roll Timber!

Todd is right on the money. This is an incredibly arrogant move on the part of the MVC (and ISU if they had any say in it). Stupid, stupid, stupid...

No game is important enough to risk the lives of the people who have to work it, or the fans who might trek to see it....

I agree with everything he said. It is incredibly foolish. I also feel for him as a fellow reporter. I get to come in first thing in the morning in the middle of the storm. Woohoo!

If Wichita didn't travel in early, this game would have been postponed. I'd imagine the travel costs may be the issue here and they would play this game regardless because all they really need are the players, coaches and refs.

Maybe the answer is to not open the doors for the public and let the game be played in an empty arena. I know that sounds crazy, but I think it has been done before just to insure that a game is played and that fans and other staff don't take an unnecessary risk. Of course the ISU players and coaches still have to get home.

No, I don't think you do that. If someone feels comfortable enough to travel and they're there, you let them in. I'd imagine WSU has fans in town that will be there -- there are Creighton fans at the Bradley-Creighton game and they got a ton more ice/snow then Indiana did from what I read.

Announcer just said about 2,000 peeps in attendance.

BRADLEY UP BY 5 WITH 2 MINUTES TO GO VS CREIGHTON!

Short of canceling the game, offering SycVis for free was a really smart move. I'm hopeful that fans who are able will go to the game, but for folks like me who would have made the 70 mile trip in non-endoftheworld-weather, this is a nice gesture.

Bradley Wins!

Great and bad at the same time. You knew they were gonna win one...but I was hoping it would be against Illinois State or someone. The Creighton loss helps us in the stands...but hurts the MVC a little in terms of conference strength.

That is the same argument that was made against us when we knocked off MoSt...

One game isn't going to make the conference look any better or worse than it did before. Now BracketBusters weekend, that's a whole different issue.
