Greg Lansing Basketball Camp Underway Inside The ISU Arena

The 2013 Greg Lansing Basketball Camp is in full swing this week inside the ISU Arena. A record turnout of campers are on hand this week as coach Lansing, his staff and former as well as current Sycamores put them through drills and games from Monday through Thursday.

Does anyone know what type of new hardwood floor they put in the Arena? Looks like tartan...

There are two big gyms in the arena. The south gym amd north gym. The north gym (which is used for mostly recreational stuff) is the one featured in the photos. The south gym (which is where volleyball plays and basketball practices) is getting the new floor, not the gym in the pictures.

The North gym is not the "Arena," which was built in the early 60's and is "architecturally unique." Two different worlds...

Bank, I am sure you remember the "thrill" of sticking a paper airplane in the foamy insulation on the ceiling (or the sound of 1/2 pints bouncing on stand supports and crashing underneath the stands).

What was neat was the discovery of the "planes of yesteryear" falling to the hardwood surface years after the game. The bottles heard crashing were only a microcosm of those smuggled inside the Arena. Most preferred to "let loose" during peak noise, thus buffering the clang. Ahhh yes, the good ol' dayz.:gramps:
