Guess we shouldn't even show up in Happy Valley

I'm shocked that we are 37 point underdogs if for no other reason than the fact that Penn State's offense sucked last year and I can't remember too many games last year that they even scored 37 total points for the game. The last few years they have won with their defense and running game. Do they even know who their starting quarterback will be?

Could it happen? Sure it could, but based on their offensive track record the last few years I just don't see them scoring that many points unless we turn the ball over many times and/or they return a kick or two for a td.

This is just fans talking here guys, I'm sure that the coaches have planned for us. Have they put in a great deal of time planning for us? Probably not, is it necessary that they do? Probably not.

Look, if I was a Penn State fan I'd probably be saying the same things - would I error on the side of caution? Probably not for a D1 AA program that was once considered the worst football program in the United States. Look it is what it is, we've come a heck of a long way and I recognize that (I wouldn't have gone to this game 3 years ago, I am this year) but as a "fan" this game should be a breeze - you don't concern yourself with this game and if it is close or if you do happen to get upset... Well you go ahead and pack it in and watch the message boards blow up! lol We've seen that before haven't we.

Let me offer some perspective - 3 years ago we shouldn't have lost to Quincy should we? As bad as we were, 90% of the people in the community and on this board didn't think the Sycamores would lose that game - well we did and this board blew up. Granted this is a different team, but the situation is no different.

The Sycamores will show up next Saturday and sometimes all it takes is an opportunity - I'm sure these kids would like to make a name for themselves, this is a great opportunity!

Well said. It's only natural that the fans of a major BCS program don't expect it to be a game. PSU's non-conference schedule is highlighted by Alabama, at home, and that's all they care about right now. Anybody with an internet connection and 60 seconds of free time can probably determine that ISU doesn't historically have a good football team. They don't care that we are a team on the rise.

We tend to get too caught up in our own inferiority complex. Penn State is one of the most storied college football programs in the nation; ISU is the opposite. I guess I have to live with that and will just enjoy watching the game regardless.
