MEM

The Varsity Level
Is tailgating for homecoming a different arrangement than the rest of the games? Can you still get in on the east side? If so, what time should a person get there to get a spot? I didn't know with all of the greek and alumni tents if it changed the scenario.

Yes. As mentioned, the Alumni, Greek and Organization tents wrap around from the front to the East side of the stadium. If our crowds are as large as have been in recent games, I'd get there early as possible since the tents will occupy a large portion of the East side lots.

MEM, the vast majority of the east side of the stadium is full of some 90 tents. There is still some places to park along and near the street east of the stadium (as well as north of Tent City) but I would head over to the west side to spread out your tailgating gear. The attendance should be pushing 10,000 hopefully so arrive early. I'd go as far as guaranteeing it if we win this Saturday.

The Walk

On the subject of Homecoming ...............I know the University cannot get too involved per se in that traditional "walk" ISU students do through the bars downtown and along Wabash Ave on Homecoming ........

But besides using slogans, posters, etc. urging students to be safe that day (which we all want) add some type of "tag line" --- like

"Do the Walk safely ..........then Walk INSIDE ...............
see YOU inside Memorial Stadium on Saturday"

Just an idea ..........

Thanks guys!! I'm gonna try to bring some people with me who don't normally attend ISU events, so I was trying to figure out the best approach. I was thinking like 10:00 am. Is that too late? Really don't want to show up and have no place to tailgate. I'm just assuming it's going to be a packed house!!! :sycamores:

Just a reminder if you are coming in off of 40 from West T./ Illinois, the parade will have the roads shut down from 6am (Wabash) and the campus streets starting at 1am.
Also remember that 70 is a mess right now, and you would probably be better off taking 40 from Indy.
