if anyone was in attendence of the game you could agree that it was almost all but over for the sycamores. the first half was played very well by both teams. and if it wasn't for a "goofy" call by the refs to put 1 second on the clock ISU would of been up by a score at half. the third quarter was DOMINATED by MSU. then with about 10:00 left in the fourth ISU down 35-21, we give up 2 sacks...GAME OVER. and i believe everyone at that point could agree it was GAME OVER. then on the next play Fouch let go of a miracle about 30-40 yards down field that was caught right on the sideline. if that play didn't happen there is no way we come away with a victory let alone a respectable game.

Although i didn't like it, putting the 1 sec back on was the right call. He was down, i looked up and there was 1 sec on the clock and looked over and the coach was calling timeout. They were super lucky that play didn't take longer. If he gets held up at all its over.

Everyone except the Sycamores that is. They were down, but they never gave up. I believe they are well on the way to mastering the lesson of learning how to win. In fact, I believe they expect to win. What a great turn a round by the team and the coaches.

Really wish we would open up the passing game and give Fouch a chance to make more plays.

??? He threw for over 300 yards and had 40+ attempts. . not sure you can let him open it up more? Im not looking it up right now by I believe he only had a little over 20 attempts last week. Maybe taking more shots down field though?

But the timing was a little off today, which i dont care what happens when the result is a W.

I think maybe what he is getting at is we didn't go vertical much in the first half. I think we could have hung 50 today had we stretched the defense because they loaded the box because we ran, ran, ran and when we did throw, it was short for the most part.

Manning and the Colts and all their comeback wins have nothing on this Sycamore team after today. Now let's see more students out there!

My dad said he was thinking about leaving when they were down 35-21 but waited to see what they did with that next possession. Obviously he was glad he stayed.

There was 9 minutes left when that happened. It was also sickening to see people file out of the stadium -- we're talking a couple hundred people. Talk about no faith whatsoever. For those that stayed and screamed their heads off, I commend you. Was an awesome, awesome game and the loudest I think I've ever heard Memorial, even with a smaller crowd.

Didn't it seem like he didn't have time to go deep when they had 8 or 9 in the box? Seemed, on the stream, that we had a really tough time to protect him in those situations.

In the first half, not really. It seemed like we rushed a lot of throws and as BigBlue79 mentioned in another thread, it seemed like they were out of sync. There were, what I assumed to be, timing patterns where Fouch threw one way and the receiver went the other. That said, there were times when there was no safety help and he could have thrown over the top, which is what they started doing in the 2nd half.

I think that it's good stuff that we weren't completely on our game and we still found a way to beat a good team...

Lesson learned for those that left.

Agree, runner slipped and went down quick and they did a nice job calling the time out...thought it was the right call too- should have been in that position anyway, KO return team let them get too much yardage.

We never really attempted a passing attack until we got down 14 in the second half and then we moved the ball with ease. We have a dangerous running attack and a QB that can throw the ball down field. More passes will open up the running attack even more...in the first half everyone knew every play was going to be a run.
