The All-MVC Level
Just got back tonight from the Tournament in St. Louis. Myles is the Man. You talk about someone who hustles on every play and is usually the first one back on defense and stopping the outside guards and hustling back to guard the big man and working hard to set the screens on the offensive end. And he is usually doing this against two opponents per team. He also came into his own on offense and became a scoring threat even if he was fouled during the 3 games at the tournament in St. Louis. Thanks for your hustle and effort.

I was sure he was going to be on the all tournament before they said mallet's name. What a joke! They should wait till the game is over before the press makes an a-- out of themselves, to name the MVP. Wonder how the vote would have gone in the end.

I love big guys who can come outand pick and roll like he does...if we hit him faster it will open up our perimeter shooters and our driving lanes because they will have to respect his rolling action to the basket stopping the hedging on odum which will force help from a perimeter player....

Seems like the picked the highest total scorers for the All-Tournament team...

no doubt though; Myles deserved to be on that team with AC and JO.

SOMEONE at State should package the 3 tourney games on DVD for sale...

Like the MJ generation...all people seem to care about is that a guy is s great scorer...hence why Lebron doesn't get the love he deserves, how the hell does a guy who is actually darn close to averaging a triple-double get hated on as much as he does? because he isnt the pure scorer people want him to be...more magic than MJ...

lebron brought a lot of that hatred upon himself; not so much that he left cleveland -- the complete narcissistic way he 'decided' and announced.

The fact that he hasn't won an NBA title doesn't help either

Ehhhhh Idk if I would call him Narcissistic, the guy was trying to raise money for a good cause.

OK -- If you say so :krazy: With his checkbook, he could have written the check and released a 1 paragraph statement.

But he WANTED the attention -- 95% of them do.

Lebron = Narcissistist

Scoring = attention, you can't argue that.

But, in Walker's case, he does all those little things and he was a workhorse this past weekend! I am just so impressed with his game and with the improvements I have seen this season out of him. No question he is an unsung hero for sure.

He reminds me of a Horace Grant type of player. Key to winning, not a huge scorer, but just flat out works hard, rebournds, blocks out, plays HARD defense, has some scoring moves but not a dominate scorer. He is no Horace Grant, but he plays the role that Grant did for the Bulls back in the day.

There was a play between he and Creekmore where Myles basically threw Creekmore to the floor... and Creekmore ended up with the foul being called... (the foul had already happened when Myles threw him to the floor). I like the "not backing down" attitude.

i love it when the other team's big tries to back him down, and he doesnt move a bit.

He is a major reason we were able to play with top tier teams like purdue and notre dame. he can D-up most bigs with his strength and athletism. He also has that hook shot workin for him now.

If he can perfect his little jump hook with both hands for next year he will be an absolute force. His problem this year wasn't getting position, it was finishing. He finally finished most of the easy shot in STL.. and actually shot well from the FT line. It was awesome sitting in the stands and watching him sink clutch free throw after clutch free throw..

He does need to improve his shot especially the short range jump shots. He is also looking at the rim more as he takes the shot. He has done so on the hooks as shown in the tournament. He needs to be feed the ball early in the game to score and open up the mid and long range shots. This should also happen in the latter part of the game when the opposing bigs are worn out, mainly by him. You also need to note he is bumped significantly as he does his hook and dunks which forces the shot short or long in some instances and causes the miss.

He's "bumped" because the defender has nothing to lose when he goes to the FT line. He's gotta get that FT% up, thus making the defenders play him HONEST, thus providing space and improving shot accuracy.

He's improved by leaps & bounds THIS season, so I'm confident that by next year, this issue will be moot.

You can't buy exposure...the guy is a business man, not saying it was completely about the charity and I didnt like it but the guy always seems genuine when he helps out the community...I like guys who help the community...Personal opinion, The guy is a flat-out baller and is the most complete player on the planet period

Are we talking about the same guy here? Walker is great..he had an amazing tourney and he is just a solid and good ball player...but to say he is the most complete player??? Can't agree with that. he has some work to do still...and you can always improve...even MJ improved over his career...

I believe he is referring to LeBron James. He was brought up earlier in this strand.

He was 8-14 (.571) for the MVC Tourney; and it declined from 1.000 vs ue to .250 vs MSU.

Myles had a GREAT tourney, but he needs to improve his FT from ~40% for the season to AT LEAST 70%. Coach Lansing needs to have him shooting ~300 FTs DAILY.

Everyone has parts of their game that they need to work on. Myles is the most effective post player we've had in a long, long time. His defense is really good, his offensive skills are coming around (in reality he's ahead of where most JUCO's are in their first D-I season), and his rebounding is good. Once he gets his FT % up, and I'm sure he will, he will be an absolute force inside for us.

You can see him getting more confident each game...:wordyo:

I guess you're talking about James. I know there a lot of MJ worshipers, but I agree with you. I think James is, maybe, the best ever.
