I have now seen the All-Star game exhibition at Benton Central and was also at Conseco yesterday and I was still unimpressed with Jake Odum. Hoping he kicks it up a notch when he puts on the ISU uniform.

He had 9 rebounds and 6 assists that game at Benton Central. He's not going to lead the All-Stars in scoring.

Here was IU recruit/IN Mr. Basketball Jordan Hulls' (0-7 FG/2 pts./6 ssists) response to a reporter:

"I don't really need to score for us to win. My job is to get the ball to the open man."

People wonder WHY this game only draws 5k attendance now...the Indy Star has cut their own throat.

Based on the all-star perfomances, I'm convinced that Jake is possibly the best PG in the state. Not that he was given a chance to show it, just that nobody else showed me that they are as good.

Way back when, Larry Bird refused to go in the game when they tried to put him in for "mop up" in the last two minutes of the 2nd game against Kentucky. About 1/2 of the all-star team players were not the best players in the state; never are year after year and never will be. Bob Knight used to be on the selection committee; Crean probably is now?

indiana wins again in louisville.....

channel 59 here in indy had some game highlights....hulls had one basket in the game....they said that he was 1-for-9 shooting from the field....channel 59 also had a shot of odum blocking a shot, which led to a fastbreak basket at the other end.....

I wasn't concerned with his lack of scoring it was that he seemed to be out of control most of the time and had some bad turnovers. I'm confident that once he goes through McKenna's system everything will be fine.

I wouldn't take much away from an All-Star game. I've attended quite a few of them and they're an exhibition -- kids aren't playing like they would in a state tournament.
