ISU to host 2011 NCAA Div-I championships.
Rose-Hulman to host 2011 NCAA Div-III championships.
Both to be held at the Gibson course.

Now this is impressive

So many of you are so impressed about Purdue players, I am impressed with the success of ISU being the home of the NCAA cross coutry finals again next year.. Now that is impressive that the NCAA would turn to ISU and its staff to put on a great show.

I said it, I said it... Me and someone else said it and if you look I quickly came back and reniged on it. It didn't really come as a huge surprise to me, I guess I was more amazed by how poorly put together the Oregon University package was. Shows that money does NOT always bring National Championships to your town... Again this was the ultimate compliment to Terre Haute, the Gibson course and the people at Indiana State that put on this meet.

Oregon had actually included 250k in advertising for the NCAA National Championship meet and stated that they would make sure all schools in Portland were closed on the Monday of the meet so kids could come out and watch the meet all were included in the package.

It came down to the fact that the course they were purposing to run the meet on is inside a horse track and when races are not taking place the track is an off-track betting location. They would not shut down the betting and the NCAA said "no soup for you".
