This team has something to prove. Our young guys are vastly more talented than last year's team, and I predict we'll jump out to a quick 10-15 point lead on pure adrenaline. Unlike past years' teams, though, this bunch knows how to hold a lead! I see a big win coming for the Sycamores.

Oh yeah, and our guys will be out to exact a little revenge for their coach!!!

I took New Mexico in the pre-season - since then Indiana State has closed the gap. We still have to show more consistency than two strait wins. I didn't like the way we played in the first half vs. High Point. A bad half like that against New Mexico could put you down 10 plus at the half.

That said, I'm taking New Mexico by 5. But I'd loveeeeeee to be wrong! Please no show some faith posts, I've got all the faith in the world - just going with my gut.

This will be New Mexico's first true road game.................need to make it a tough one for them.

It depends on Coach Lansing's game plan. Now I looked at their roster. They have a 7 footer which means Kitchell is gonna have to guard him and hopefully stay out of foul trouble. If kitchell can hold his on against him then I dont think we should have alot of help defense for him. I think our x-factor is gonna be RJ. New Mexico probably hasn't played a shooting 4 this year at 6'9. I wish Rj had handles or could be a threat in the post. That would make RJ such a versatile player. Kitchell will be vital too bc since he can knock down that baseline jumper that will make the 7 footer come out of the paint a little. So if jake gets to the rim and the 7 footer tries to block Kitchell has got to be able to hit that shot most of the time which i know he can. This is New Mexico's first road game so they could start out cold. Hopefully if they do we take advantage. We have to play great D and have little to no breakdowns. I can't predict but say that if it's close in first half I look for us to pull out a win plus if New Mexico doesnt score more than 63 along with any other team we will have the best opportunity to win. One of the only things that might hurt us will be free throws. We have to make those free buckets.

Considering the fact that we've lost one game since Lansing has been here when holding teams under 63, I'd say defense is key. And I agree, if we shoot free throws like we did against high point we may be in trouble, but we need to d it up and hit the glass. I've started to accept that our offense is not going to dominate, not with the style that we play.

After looking @ the Portland video, it's clear that the LOBO 7'er can run the court in transition (i.e. Ty/Cod Zeller)...will be a big test for Mahurin, Kitchel & Gant, as they're not known for this style of play. Personally, I thinks it time for Kitch to "kick the shit outa someone," or vice-versa. His play this season has been - well, you know! It's time to become a MAN.
