It'll be interesting to see how Menser's Batesville protege does in Game #3 v. ISU tonight, won't it? We "weren't interested" in Colt Ryan either, were we?

I hope this whole thread is mass-sarcasm because NONE of it makes any sense to me except BS complaining about Colt again. I saw Menser at the last game and had I had a chance to ask him I would asked him about young Mr. Ryan. Then we could have known what was up there. My guess is that he didn't have interest in attending ISU and that was it.

Ya, I'm sure that was it...sometimes your RECRUITING has to plant the seed and NURTURE it before it'll grow. We didn't have a shovel or fertilizer...or he'd be wearing BLUE right now.

BS, you may well be right but as we have stated many times before, there likely are a mulitude of reasons for all of this. I just wish I could have asked Mike when I saw him. He probably would have had a quick answer to it and this whole Colt story might have been put to rest. Trust me, I WILL be watching him closely tonight.

Tonight? Hell, he's got 5 more reg season games left against us, plus any MVC post-season play that UE/ISU could be matched.

I'll guess that ODUM will matched against him, now that Kelly's hurt. Good comparison, eh...they're the SAME age.

Let's recruit 200 kids that aren't interested in us. That's a real efficient use of time. Don't spend any time on the kids that want to be Sycamores. I'm glad you're not our recruiting cooridinator.

Everybody knows we should sign every kid in IN that can help us. Oops, I forgot. Scholarship limit

You think you'd be better? LOL

I can see it now, a squad filled w/Walker's and Ray's that look good on paper, but...just simply don't have the SKILL PACKAGE for the "motion offense." Let me ask you...is there EVER a skill package in TODAY'S GAME for such an offense? If so, what HS coaches teach it?

Well, there's always the REDSHIRT tool, which has paid handsomely for ISU over the years, right?`

Most definitely. I know a "skill package" when I see it and I would find kids that want to be Sycamores.

I wouldn't cry and whine if I lost a recruit to UE, which we have been doing since the 60's. Remember, they got Larry Humes and we got Bugsy. They got Buse and we got Bush.

Larry Humes- 6'4" F - how many times All-American @ UE '62-64?
Bugsy Humes - 6'0" G - how many minutes did he avg @ ISU before his knee injury?

Don Buse (Holland) - 6'3" G; All-American on UE '71 NCAA Champs, many compared "D" to Jerry Sloan;
Pacers/All-Def Team selection. Failure to have a good outside shot was the "Flying Dutchman's" ultimate demise.
Danny Bush (Oolitic) - 6'0" G; good outside shooter/ball handler but slow & "D" liability.

Those are real comparative "skill packages," 'Backer!

I was talking about recruiting against UE, not comparing skill packages.

The main point is -- the next time we get a player that commits to Louisville their So year, I'll send you a check for $100. And I hope we don't waste our time recruiting them.

Is CFU where Thomas is coaching?

No, that Slimeball Thomas is at either FLA Int'l or FLA Atlantic

UE/ISU rarely recruit the same kids. Different institutions.

Larry Humes was plugged to UE by none other than UE star BUSTER BRILEY, both who hail from Madison. Briley still lives in E-ville.

Bugsy Humes was nowhere the player of Larry, actually attended VU before transfering to ISU, where he rarely played after suffering a knee injury.

I doubt that UE ever recruited Danny Bush, although 6 '5" FLayne Holmes (Needmore) from Lawrence County played for UE during that era.

Don Buse, from nearby Holland, was always a UE "catch" & I doubt that he ever thought about attending ISU. Gene Tormhlen, a strong UE supporter, pretty much paved the way to UE for Buse:
