I talked to some media people in the MVC last week about what would happen if the Sycamores beat Missouri State on Saturday. I said that if ISU won that game and tallied their fourth victory of the season that Trent Miles should be considered the early frontrunner for MVC Coach of the Year honors. Most agreed with me.

Yeah for some strange reason, as always, I don't see us getting the votes required to get him as the coach of the year...sometimes there seems to be a bias almost against the trees...

If you look at the totality of what he's done since he's been here, i.e. where the program was when he took over, I think he should be a candidate for sure. I doubt that there has been this good of a turnaround/rebuilding job anywhere in the country at any level.

Hopefully, though, the Trees win several more games and he can be a shoe-in for the award!!!

right now it should be between him and the WIU coach. Both teams going from worst to first in the same season deserves some recognition

Don't forget that WIU's return to the top is equally as significant. If we keep winning, it will be close.

WIU had been good in recent years.....

Indiana State hasn't. The Leathernecks are coming off one bad year. The Sycamores are coming off one bad decade. Makes a big difference.

Hey, I forgot that they were recently good. Trent deserves it anyway but 0-11 to where they are at is pretty significant and some of these idiots (not OUR media, TJ) may only look at the goose egg last season.~

It's already been mentioned in the weekly recaps on the MVFC site. A couple of more conference wins, and I'd say he's the favorite, even if WIU wins the conference.

I think we still have a few wins to go before Trent could win. I'm not sure Trent would even want the award unless we have a winning season at minimum.

In this topsy-turvy Valley year, you gotta think he and the guy from Western (UNI grad, btw ;) ) are front runners now.
