down to 14, but this fan isn't getting his hopes up, esp. at MSU.

It would be good to get it within 10 points and at least COMPETE.

me too, especially in this game when we can't afford to be chucking up so many.

this is gonna be a bigger blowout than the Drake game was. Sad Sad Sad

9-40 from the field Fritz just said, unreal!

This seems like a lack of team leadership. We don't have anyone that can be the rock solid go-to-guy. With the positive play at Hulman Center, I really can't blame the coaching staff. It really looks like this is 100% on the players. Rico & Harry have glimpses of promise, but really no one else; not even Gabe. Seems like the last true leader we had was David Moss.

It's too bad they struggle so much on the road. That really shouldn't happen. I think they take too many threes, but I base that on what little I've had a chance to see this year and by looking at the stats after the games. If we aren't making shots it's like we forfeit if it's a road game.

Todd said in his article that ISU's average margin of loss the past 4 seasons was 21 points, so ISU was right there last night. Just amazing how diff. this team is on the road, very hard to understand. I hope it isn't this bad at CU on Saturday, geesh. ISU ended 0-18 at Hammons center, no Sycamore EVER won in that building. Unreal.

It's hard to be over-critical of our shot selection when we have lived and died with the perimeter shot all year. When we make shots, people say we're playing well. When we miss shots, people say we're taking poor shots. They're the same shots...some just go in.

Shooting on the road is simply different than shooting at home...our players take thousands of shots at HC. I realize that we get the ole' Hoosiers..."measure the goal Ollie"..."all goals are 10 feet high." However, if you've ever played hoops, you know that some gyms are much easier to shoot in than others.

The only way to really evaluate this team is to look at effort. Did we play hard defensiely? Were we scrambling for loose balls? Were we physical? Did we get killed on the boards? Shooting will come and go...you really can't control that.

Coach McK is doing a great job! He's making chicken salad out of chicken parts that he didn't select. It's a great time to be a Sycamore fan, and it's going to get better.

Every road game we win is a bonus. I'll be thrilled if we can keep winning home games. Reasonable expectations for this squad have been surpassed so far. We just need to fight off the traditional late season fold.

"sycamore fan" makes a good point. Expectations of a conference championship weren't born out of reality. However, if we continue to hold serve at home and lose every road game the rest of the way, we finish 10-8 in the conference. Did anyone realistically expect that before the season started? I don't think so...

Keep the faith, my friends...

All I've wanted from the start was to finish above .500 for the year and in the valley. Even if it's only by a couple of games. I think that's significant improvement with a young team, which we can build on. The Valley may be down a little, but we're still climbing up from the bottom. McKenna just has to find a way to get these guys to toughen up on the road.

I, too, was not expecting an MVC championship by any means this season, just wanted to see improvement. As someone else posted over on the other ISU board (it's really too bad there isn't just ONE ISU message board by the way), there is NO WAY Drake and Missouri State are 25 and 21 points better than ISU, even on the road.

I just want to see ISU compete in EVERY game, if they lose, they lose. If we know they competed and tried their best, so be it. I think we can live with it, but the loses at Drake and MSU were just dreadful, just listening and watching it, it seemed the players just didn't have the intensity they have at Hulman Center. I know they can't be sky high for every game, but they could give a better effort I think.

Anyway, on to CU, and let's hope for, at minimum, a better effort.
