I think we will score against Missouri State for sure.

However...NIU...NDSU...maybe SDSU...no way.

These are prime examples of programs that should have made the jump to 1-A long ago but just like being really good. Its like Appalachian State...why move when you're comfortable just where you are?

I don't see any points on those teams, although NIU has played us very respctfully in the past.

And to make things even crazier Southeast Mo. St. lost 24-21 at Eastern Illinois' homecoming. I think it just shows a lot of this is mental for the players. They come into these games expecting a thrashing.

ok, thank God that's over, I wonder if RP goes to these road games? What must he be thinking?

Anyway, Updating the all-time conference blowout list now.......drum roll please.........

today's game comes in at NUMBER TWO on the all time conference blowout list. (ISU is 3 for 3 adding to this list so far this season with 5 conference games to go yet.)

So we've been outscored 173-13 in the last three games! You know the Dakota schools and UNI will make those numbers even uglier. I'm really anxious for this season to be over. Let's see what the experience and a year of growing do for these players and hope things get a little better next year.

seriously though, how many of them return to ISU to play football?? We know there are going to be some transfers, just a matter of who? After back to back winless seasons some players are just going to say "I've had enough"

You've gotta hope that Coach Miles was straight with them when he brought them in - "This is a rebuilding project. Stick with us, and by the time you graduate, we'll be winners." Hopefully, they believe in him and believe in themselves. Stay and make something special happen. Particularly if we get another top recruiting class...

I would hope a lot of those players came to Terre Haute for reasons beyond winning right away. I would hope they like and respect Miles enough to stick around. Besides, where are they all going to go? Who is going to rush to pick up players from a team that is losing by 50 points every game?

I've said this before, every team we play knows these kids are 18-19 years old.

Every big play is viewed as potential, plus, most all of them have a redshirt year left. There will be a place if they want to go.

These young men want to play and win or they wouldn't be there. A lot of young players are getting valuable experience that many other young players aren't getting from other teams. They should go into the off season motivated more than most (from getting their butts handed to them) and work to get bigger, stronger, and faster. Couple that with the experience gained this year and things should start to pick up next year.

How Trent Miles handles these young men in the coming months is crucial.

Hopefully they have a strength and conditioning coach that will help them make the most of the off season.
