When I went to license the used car I purchased and ask for an ISU plate they told me that they did not have any and that it would be 30 days before Winchester could ship one to me. I took a 30 paper plate and am still waiting for my ISU plate.

Sure do. AA777! I've had one since they first came out. The 2011 plate is getting a makeover and I think I like it but it is slightly different plus I think they are changing the numbering system maybe getting rid of the AA?). Getting them now is so much easier as they have them at every branch and you do not need to order them thru the Alumni Office. I might add, they are setting all-time record numbers in plates sold this year~

Not quite every branch, see my post above.

Sorry, I missed that comment. ALL branches are supposed to have them. That was the arrangement when they changed the procedure. Call Teresa Exline in the alumni office and I bet you'll get one pretty quick. She was able to locate my 777 plate for me and I got it in five days and they apologized that it took so long! Note: this used to be one of her responsibilities and I am not too sure that it still is. Chris Hancock will know who can help you.

I do not as I choose to have veterens plates on my cars sorry its a matterof choice.

Yeah I that's an honor to have a plate like that Dave, not all of us can lay such claim. All I can say is I was a Sycamore, thus I have a Sycamore plate and that makes me proud. Prolly wouldn't be able to say that if it wasn't for individuals such as yourself that make this country the greatest in all the world!

Every year for the last 5-6 years... (probably longer)
My wife's car has the "education" plates though.
I think I'll get one for my daughter's car next year... she plans on attending ISU starting Aug. 2011

I'm still waiting for the Indiana State University plate to come out in Iowa. I'll probably be waiting a very, very, very long time.

Why are you apologizing? As I said, I'm only curious about the reasons people may not have the plates. It's certainly not mandatory, and the choice you've made is as good as any.

What kind of makeover? Personally, I hope they don't make a move to the new "interlocking I-S" they've been pushing on t-shirts and hats. Maybe I'm just a geezer, but I don't like that logo at all. I've had the plates since they showed the striped Sycamore leaf, but I really like the current logo the best (the logo that appears on this site).

If you get the Alumni E-newsletter, there is an ad about obtaining the ISU plates and I believe that picture is similar to what the new plate will look like. It sports a blue strip at the bottom with Indiana State University in white on it, the state of Indiana changes to blue instead of black. Minor changes but basically the same look. I have never liked the interlocking logo. I must have 50 baseball hats and not one with that logo.

That interlocking logo is not on anything that I own. I just don't like it. It is overdone and frankly looks like it is from one of about 200 different teams, companies, schools, etc. Just don't like it at all!

It's the baseball team's logo.... they had to find a new logo after we were forced to remove Chief Quabache as our mascot.

I believe that the one on the license plate (and now on the basketball floor) is the football team's logo... both have been adopted by other sports... and both are better than the singular Sycamore Leaf.
