So we have talked about this over and over in multiple threads.

WHERE IS THE ISU MERCH?

I am told by several sources that the problem is the licensing, the cost do purchase the license and the incredible headache that goes along with trying to get through the process.

Any thoughts from anyone on what should be available, companies that should offer ISU merch, etc?

No sympathy, period. EVERY university in the country does it --so find a way to cut thru the crap. Sack or Boda mentioned it before, but go to Barnes and Noble on the IUPUI campus and it is jammed packed with tons more than we have. Saw the HUGE selection of stuff at the Butler bookstore last night on the news. You make fricking money on this stuff, a LOT of money if you buy the right lineup of products. RP should make this a pet project of his because the percentages of sales to the university GROWS as the volume grows. We've been bitching about it for years. I have not checked out the new bookstore and hopefully they added some new stuff when it opened on campus.

GET IT DONE~

Ivy Tech's bookstore is full of Ivy Tech gear, and they don't even have any sports teams. They actually have more than ISU has out.

That is certainly true....honestly it is pretty funny all the stuff that an Ivy Tech bookstore has...

But seriously, what do you want to see.

I want official basketball gear, myself. I want Nike warm-ups, jersey's, t-shirts. Not some crappy t-shirt, but a real ISU official Nike t-shirt like the players wear.

I also want official football too!

What about you all??

This sounds good to me. I like sweatshirts with something other than a screen printed design. Tees and sweats that are alumni specific if done with class would be good.

Ever wonder why Ivy Tech has SO MUCH STUFF? Because no one buys it...Pacesetter has some cool ISU Nike Sweatshirts. clearly their eneds to be more gear out there.

Lol not sayin' nobodyu wears it but they don't sell it with the consistency ISU would/does.

You see a LOT more of it than you see ISU gear. A lot more. Often on 25-40 year olds who have returned for job skills. It's almost a status thing with them--I've gotten smarter, doing something with my life.

By official, we mean "replica", not "authentic"...

Not the $130 basketball jersey.. Especially for the kids sizes..

And it needs to be a "fan friendly" football jersey. Authentic ones have shoulder pad pouches, tight sleeve trim and tight stretchy material..

Merchandise

Can't speak for basketball...because I am not sure what shoe company supports them...but I believe it is Nike??? I know the football team is going to Nike this fall...used to be New Balance. This might be part of the problem is lack in consistency. If Nike gets behind a university they will negotiate a deal that forces a school to merchandise X amount of apparel.

I agree...pretty pathetic representation for ISU. A perfect opportunity to generate a fan base.

DG3, now come on...

Ivy Tech has 130,000 students in this state currently, ISU has 12K. Ivy tech has an estimated 450,000 alumni living in this state...ISU is not even close to that. Ivy Tech has approx. 110,000 of those current students on Financial Aid. Before financial aid checks/refunds come in (like at most universities)those students can use their money (before it actually get there) in the bookstore for whatever they like...from books, to shirts, to an MP3 player to Wii remotes. Ivy Tech is worn everywhere that I go because the countless students of Ivy Tech can purchase the appareal before they even get their checks from Financial Aid...this allows the students to purchase things early on and even when they don't necessarily have any money. In other words, an Ivy Tech student has an "account" created that allows them to buy stuff in the bookstore as long as their financial aid is approved regardless of the money actually hitting their account...they have credit at Ivy Tech. And with that many people attending a school they are going to sell literally millions of dollars worth of merch with Ivy Tech on it.

I would say replica...for me. More interested in basketball than football jerseys but I would buy a football if it were available.

As far as alumni stuff...that is a great idea too!

Number of students doesn't mean anything...

Notre Dame only has 15,000 students...but they generate a TON in apparel income.

If THEY don't have it...WE can't buy it!

I rarely see it here in the southern Indiana area...and to be honest how many people would use their own money to buy an Ivy Tech sweatshirt...maybe it's just my mind but that's like being a University of Phoenix shirt lol...Well a little above a university of Phoenix shirt...the clear point is we should have more stuff out there than we do.

Could not agree more...that is why I am asking what people want to see and what they would buy.

But on the enrollment piece. I promise you that at any Ivy Tech 75% or more of the students own one piece of clothing that says Ivy Tech that they purchased in a bookstore...that would mean that at a minimum 100,000 articles of clothing are bought each year from the Ivy Tech bookstores...far more than is purchased in ISU merch I would have to guess. Is that because more Ivy Tech stuff is available? or is it because they can purchase the stuff with their financial aid money before the money actually is available? I would say the later.

There are dozens of reasons why ND is so popular and sells sooo much stuff. Tradition, perception, TV rights, Catholic affiliation, rivalries, etc. For example, I was brought up to cheer for ND because I am Catholic and went to Catholic school. I love ND, it is an amazing school and I have several ND things (hats, jackets, etc.). They are truly a national institution that is recognized and they successfully market....ISU doesn't do that and doesn't have those things mentioned. It isn't about enrollment in that sense it is about marketing.

Ivy Tech is much different, they don't have to market because the way that they have set up the bookstore situation to allow students to purchase items with their refund before the refund is available...trust me the students are going to buy shirts, sweatpants, etc. with "credit" because it isn't "real money" to most...

I believe your Ivy Tech theory to be valid. I also believe it to be a great marketing technique. I also believe it to be an underhanded plot to get money from a student body that is not, in many cases, familiar with the downfalls of buying on credit.

So, the only reason Ivy Tech sells any merchandise is b/c of the credit...

So if they didn't have that 'credit' available, they wouldn't spend their OWN money on Ivy Tech gear?!

None of it seems logical

As an aside; so, if you were brainwashed/indoctrinated on north crook, why are you a State alum?

Does your State 'gear' cache outnumber your nd stash?
