ISU recruits did pretty well in the Midwest meet of Champions up in Fort Wayne on Saturday.

Results for ISU recruits:

Applegate, Justin Indiana 167-07 5th in the discus throw

Brad Adams from Ohio on the 1st place 4 * 800 meter relay team from Ohio 7:43.45

Chris Hansen on the 3rd place 4 * 800 meter relay team from Indiana 7:50.86

Max Tuttle 7th in the 110 meter hurdles (14.76), and 3rd in the 300 meter hurdles (37.68)

Leo Cordova on the 2nd place 4 * 200 meter relay team from IN (1:26:46), and 8th in the open 200 (22.11)

Drew Gambill 3rd in the 1600 (4:17.83)

Austen Barnes 2nd in the 400 (48.78)

Ray Skamay 7th in the 300 meter hurdles (38.25)

Lauren Rice 8th on the women's pole vault (11-00")

Brittany Housel ran the 300 meter hurdles, but the timing system failed during the race.

The big recruit on the radar screen for next year is going to be Terre Haute North's John Mascari - one of the top distance runners in the state of Indiana for the last couple of years and it looks to me like right now Indiana State is the front runner to get him and possibly a kid name Futsom.

Indiana State looks to be getting Futsom's older brother and that could possibly influence one of the best if not the best distance runner in the history of Indiana high school athletics to come to Indiana State. If you can land Futsom and Mascari in back to back years you have set your distance running program up to do big things for the next 5 to 10 years.

Needless to say the next 2 years are crucial recruiting years for Indiana State, they could really make some major news on the national level if they can get kids of this caliber.
