per Rick Semmler's Tweet

ISU-IU are going to scrimmage this year in mens hoops. The scrimmage is closed to public.

Wimps. Come play us in December in Hulman Center. Oh yeah, I forgot - you won't. Ha, ha, ha!!! Loosiers...

Yeah they aint playing us in real life, this is like a video game to them. They can hit the reset button once its all over and act like it never happened.

On the flip side this is a good idea, why not? Play a quality team an let Jake Odum show Jordy Hulls who the best player in the state of Indiana is right now. 13 will eat his breakfast, lunch and dinner. Talk about must see tv that we can't see. I'd love to find a way into the gym for this.. Hmmm

SSM, I don't think anyone is doubting whether it's a good thing or not as it will give us a chance to scrimmage against a Big 10 team...just a matter of them not wanting to play when it counts!

Oh I wasn't really saying anyone was suggesting it was a bad idea, did I? More so looking for a transition to talk about JO... Lol

Could help build relations so that we do play them in the future. Good to workout with a Big 10 team - even if they aren't a very good one - at the very least.

Would rather we play a game vs. a scrimmage vs anyone.

Why do we need 'good relations' with gloomington...?

Don't discount IU. They will be better than the last few years and a scrimmage with them is better than an exhibition game with a team of lesser talent. Being ready out of the blocks is huge and this will be a good tune up for both teams. Smart move by both coaches.

This is about preparing this years team for this year. If more comes out of it, it's a bonus. This is really good for us to work out our glitches and get the new bees a taste of D1 hoops.

This answers a question I asked a while back concerning only one exhibition game scheduled. Lots of teams take this route vs. playing two exhibitions; Ball State has played Illinois State for a couple of years now, Colorado @ Wichita State this season and some others that I don't remember the exact matchups at the moment. Fans can't watch & no "official stats" are reported but probably a lot more effective workout than a regular exhibition game.

I hate to say this but there's a reason IU is traveling HERE for the scrimmage. Right now we are the better ball club...good thing for both schools though.
