I had to drive around the block 5 times just to hear the entire interview! To much snow in the driveway and I don't like to track in the driveway until I shovel it... lol
Anyway great interview, Jake Kelly really comes across as a quiet young man. He is actually very well spoken and when asked what he was thinking about last night before the free throw I am going to paraphrase,
"Not to be overly dramatic or anything, but I was thinking about what a rough time I have had over the last several years, my injuries and I was thinking about my mom a little bit"
I tell you what, we (mainly myself) put some very large expectations on Jake Kelly, we expected him to take us places we haven't been in awhile and he still yet may do that. But for a fan base that has been starved of success (as they talked about on the fan) what else were we to do? We wanted a savior, we were crying out for someone to help left us up? Jake Kelly had to be that guy, we were touched by his story and it seemed as if it could provide a story book ending. If we don't win another game this season, I can close this post by saying good for Jake Kelly and good for Indiana State. He has been through an awful lot, been delt a pretty difficult hand at 20 or 21 years of age when his mom passed away. Last night for 4 seconds, I'd imagine he had someone very special to him looking down!
Congrats again Jake! Well deserved!
