Our tough-minded guys need to ratchet up tough another notch on Wednesday and bring this one home in the win column. Have to win the road games vs. the league bottom dwellers if they plan to make a run for the roses. Bradley is winless in the Valley and don't need to be their first victim; keep them reeling.

And the winning ways go on! This is no time to think we have a breather. Good D, hitting the boards and a productive O will lead to success. Let's go Sycamoooooores!!!

I'd imagine Lathan will be back in the lineup for this game. It will be imperative for him to "buy in" to what has been developing as we are doing really well playing team ball. If he can bring his game and athleticism and play within the team philosophy, we're going to be very dangerous.

I was very encouraged on Friday at the UNI game by Lathan's demeanor. In the huddle right before tip-off, Dwayne was in the middle of the team, yelling and getting the guys pumped up. At least he wasn't pouting. I think he'll come back ready to trust his teammates more, and he will provide us with yet another weapon...

Great to hear. There were times last night where his athleticism would have been a neutralizer because we had problems getting to the basket. What I'd like to see from him going forward is when he does drive, he needs to go to the hoop hard and draw/power through contact instead of going up and then tossing some bad shot/pass if the contact isn't there. Basically, just finish the shot. We know he can do it because he was great at doing it last year. Also hope he doesn't come back tentative after the concussion.

You are correct! There is no doubt that he can do it; I believe he will. He is an intelligent player, and the evidence to change his game is clearly there.

I hope that he learns to do that without the need to dribble into the crowd under the basket. Come off of some screens, receive - one dribble max - and up and in... I just don't want to see him with the ball at the top of the key with under 10 seconds on the shot clock..

This hits it perfectly... Totally agree with this. The last thing this team needs right now is someone that can't dribble that wants to dribble to much. Fact of the matter is Lathan is a terrible ball handler, that's not a knock it's a fact. The truth is in his career numbers, he just doesn't handle the ball well. He doesn't need to force it off the bounce anymore, we have guys that can score. LET THE GAME COME TO YOU and we will be fine!

I think this current winning streak has given JK and Dwayne a eye opening. I'm saying this from a fans point of view but I imagine JK and Dwayne both look at thierself as the teams top two best players wether they want or would admitt to it and them seeing this team playing the type of ball they have been has to open thier eyes to the thought of "how good we can be if we play as a team" thinking.

Like it has been said in several other threads if these two buy into the teamwork aspects we can be a very tough out for anyone!

Yes, I believe we must and will win Wed. at Bradley. BUT, let's not forget that in the last 4 years the Sycamores are 0-4 in Carver Arena.:verysad: No way we can overlook the Braves.:naughty:

Oh not a chance and you would have to think that Bradley will pick up a conference win at some point, no better time than at home vs. an Indiana State team that was picked to finish in the bottom half of the MVC. Let's not kid ourselves into thinking that the Sycamores are road warriors of the MVC! lol It will take a heck of an effort to win on Wednesday. I believe it's a game we should win, but winning on the road in the Valley isn't something we have seen a lot of out of Sycamore teams in the past 5 years. Which is why after last night - we see lofty expectations!

Correct this if it's wrong, but a win Wednesday will double last years MVC road wins. Coaches are making a point to make kids understand that road MVC wins are rare.

Our goal really needs to be to take care of business at home and steal half of our road games. If we do that, we're top 3 or 4 (or better) in the MVC this season.

We gotta go in playing to win!

Seriously, we need to be careful @ Bradley. They just barely let one get by at Northern Iowa 83-77. They can score in bunches and are probably a very dangerous team at this point. We need to play excellent basketball like we did at home in our first game against them. Come on guys, game on, take no prisoners!

It should be a very good game, and it is on tv for us in the Terre Haute area on WTWO. It may also be on channelsurfing.

I would also like to see Lathan drive and dish once in a while. Defenses know he has a quick first step and can beat his defender and then they collapse on him. From there, he can pull up for a jumper or look down low or to the corners for someone open.

I think we will learn a lot about our team at Bradley. It would be very easy to have a letdown at this point.Hopefully we are learning quickly that we have to play the same every time out.We aren't good enough to ever take any game for granted.I expect the guys to be hungry as they continue to grow as a team.

Prediction Time

Sycamores 68
Bradley 62

Gotta stay with the team that is riding the momentum coming into this game, with that being said it wont be easy. I know we get off to fast starts but I don't expect that to be the case tomorrow. Bradley leads at half 30 - 27
