I was thinking the exact same thing.

We've gone from NCAA tourney hopes, to NIT hopes, to......who knows? At the rate we are racking up losses we may not even be a .500 team by seasons end. Can't really blame people for not showing up Sunday at this point, we are a difficult team to watch (and even more difficult to be a fan of).

How we continue to let avg (at best) teams look great against us I will never know. Not really sure who we can beat with our games left. Really shouldn't be favored against anyone.

Vanderbilt must really be pissed!

Everybody take a step back from the ledge and take a deep breath..........on the other hand SIU coach Lowrey hit the nail on the head we do miss AC.

I'm not sure anyone needs to step back. If we had lost two in a row and everyone was saying we were the worst team in the world, yes that would be a bit much. However, we are now 2-4 in the league and we haven't even played the two best teams in the league. Not only are we 2-4 but most of us see very little reason to be optimistic. If we were a team of primarily freshman and sophomores that would be one thing, but we are a senior led team.

We're not talking about a bad week. We're talking about the last three weeks. Honestly, tell me what have we seen over the past three weeks that gives us hope? Where have we at least shown signs of improvement? We are not only losing but seem to be regressing at a pretty steady rate, not to mention our best player isn't going to get any better with his health.

I can usually find a bright side in just about anything, but I have really struggled to find a bright spot since Conference play started.

My advice, start Odum, McWhorter, RJ, Gant and Kitch. One of two things will happen if we do that. Either our seniors will get the message and step up and lead or our younger guys will get experience that will pay dividends next year.

Right now we all feel like a jilted lover and that is why i posted the Freddy Fender song, WASTED DAYS AND WASTED NIGHTS, a couple pages back. Give it a listen and sob along with me.

Nobody played in the middle all night long Myles was in foul trouble again and only play 15 minutes, Gant and Kitch played a total of 15 minutes between them and scored 1 point with one rebound. Is it any wonder why and how SIU scored at will in the paint.

And Treg Setty, THEIR FRESHMAN, who Lowery benched for tonight's game had 11 points, 2 steals and 4 rebounds.

Hey backer, what were you saying in another thread about how Seniors can run circles around Freshmen, every day of the week? So not so much for our Seniors against this SIU Freshmen...right?

What someone needs to do is (and I nominate the Wizard of the Keyboard, 4q) track all of the Freshmen in the MVC, and what those Freshmen our producing and doing against their upper class counterparts...like that Sophomore Slug McDermott....though not a Freshmen, he is an under-classmen.

P.S. 4q......don't waste any time comparing our Freshmen or RF against the MVC.....Lansing doesn't play them enough to make any comparisons.

Note: Freshmen Setty at SIU is a Kentucky All Star.

Score: 1 Kentucky Freshmen All Star at SIU, 5 Stars vs. 2 Indiana All Star Freshmen at ISU, 1/2 Star....if that. I'm not bangin' our All Stars...I'm bangin' how they aren't being used or coached.

Gant played 10 minutes tonight and his total out put was, ONE FOUL.

I agree with your point here. I don't have a problem running a program where players are supposed to wait their turn in most cases and then contribute as juniors and seniors. In football if you go to Wake Forest you will redshirt, pretty much a guarantee. However once those kids are seniors the redshirt and experience pays off. If Lansing wants our program to be similar that is fine with me, but that means once you become a senior you have to step up big time. Right now we don't have that.

Thats why I said earlier if he switched to all sophomores and freshman for the WSU game you wouldn't hear me complain

Relax, the hard part of the schedule is about to begin. Our wins should start to come.
A little better defense and get some motion in the offense and we will be fine.

The way this team has played so far this season, I am expecting a close win for us on Sunday night. We always play up to our competition and I like our chances against WSU come Sunday night. I am starting to think that we should RS Gant and let Burnett and Brown play this season, IMO.
