Biggest game of the year Saturday! Gotta take out those bad Aces. Hope we can get a good crowd!

I'm going to be cautiously optimistic on the crowd. Hopefully a lot of the Greeks that were there last night come back on Saturday. The odds though, being a prime "party" night are not good. I usually never went out before 11pm so hopefully they will go to the Bally, go to the game and then go out afterwards.

Time for the Bally to have another one of their "extravaganza's"...get the Cheerleaders & Band in pre-game! Clabber Girl coffee/hot cocoa/bagel-donut, etc. for kids...cheese will draw the mice out of the walls.

just like every MVC game this is a big one. we gotta protect the home court. i would guess a crowd somewhere in the 6,100 range. i can't remember the last time we had a game at 8 on a saturday night. should be a good game!!!

I'm working on a way to get to the E'ville game. Know the rivalry with them has lost alot of luster the past several years, but this should be a good chance to revive some of that. battle for 3rd place ..........we have a very good team as do they. Saturday night in Terre Haute -- are you kidding me -- anything better than major college basketball ? ? ? I'm hoping we'll be over the 7000 mark.
Wish I was seeing some promotion from ISU to hipe the crowd.

Indiana State continues year three of the Greg Lansing era on Saturday, January 19 when the Sycamores (11-6, 4-2 MVC) host instate rival Evansville (11-7, 4-2 MVC) inside Hulman Center. Tip-off is set for 8:05 p.m. (ET). The game will be broadcast on MVC TV Network with Scott Warmann (pbp) and Mac McCausland (analyst) on the call. The game can also be heard on the radio via WIBQ 98.5 FM and along the Nelligan Sports Marketing Radio Network with Brian Fritz (pbp) and Matt Renn (analyst) on the call. GoSycamores.com will have an audio only production of the radio broadcast as well. Television clearances for the MVC TV Network can be found on page 2 of this release.

Those dastardly Aces have given us a tough way to go for the past few years. We have won some and lost some to them. Have lost to them a few times when we had undeniably more pure talent. Marty always gives us a challenge & I would expect nothing less this time around. Now if we were playing like we were in Hawaii would feel more confident but we have regressed and not moving forward at this point.

E'ville is the dirtiest team in the MVC. The guys will have to be prepared for elbows thrown in vulnerable places, tripping, stomping on people who are on the floor, etc. And they get away with it, too.

We'll really have to have our A game on Saturday...

Lansing is going for his 50th win as a head coach, and subsequently/obviously going for his 50th win as ISU's head coach.

What a big game. We win this we are alone in 3rd with a tiebreaker over all of the potential 4-3 teams. We lose this one we fall right back into the middle of the pack. Not to mention this would be a top 100 RPI win for us. That would help keep our RPI under 50. We should murder this team on the boards, but the Aces are scrappy. We have to play like we did in Hawaii and just hustle to every loose ball and crash those boards. Lets see Odum really shine in this one too. I think he is overdue for a breakout game. 7,000 in attendance?? A guy can dream cant he????

Evansville is 2-5 on the road this year. Lost at Notre Dame, Colorado State, Creighton, Butler and Drake. Have beaten Tennessee Tech and UNI.

Some interesting conference only stats, too. They're shooting 83.5% from the line in conference ball to our 68%. We cannot let this be a game decided at the line. They also lead the Valley in assist-to-turnover ratio. Thankfully, their shooting percentage is down in Valley play.

We CANNOT let Troy Taylor get rebounds like he is capable of. He is an outstanding rebounder at 6 foot if that. Alot ppl over look that fact. He had a triple double this season and had 19 rebounds against Mo state. So our guards need to be aware that evansville is not uni, bradley, or mo state. They will beat us if we let them. I see Lansing putting Brown, cummings, and smith all on Colt Ryan. Hopefully we somewhat slow his offensive production down. We cant put him at the line either. Adn we have to hit our free throws. This wont be an easy win. I think we will know how we will fair with our production from JO, Manny, and Gant. If those 3 can get going I think the aces wont beat us. But never count them out.

I Don't think Odum was feeling well at the Missouri State game Wednesday night. I hope he is better for Saturday. We will need him at his best. I see K. Smith having a good game too on Saturday and Brown, Cummings, and Eitel dogging Ryan. It will be a major team effort to stop Ryan and fight through all the screens he gets and having to rotate quickly to keep Ryan from getting off a good shot. Evansville is a solid team and it will take team effort to beat them.

If we come and play with a sense of "WIN" urgency from the tip instead of waiting until the last two minutes of the game, then we BAG this game as a WIN. Sycamores 71-Aces-63. 7100 attendance. With a win, the attendance goes up for the next game. GO SYCAMORES!
