I'm not worried about our guards versus UNI, and if we get Dwayne back I think we might be better than them at the guard position. However, how does everyone think our bigs are going to be against theirs? I really don't know much about UNI, other than they defend you to death and they have fantastic composure. We'll have to beat them, they won't beat themselves.

This will be a good measure of where we really stand in the Valley...:wordyo:

Thoughts?

I think the bigs matchups favor us to be honest. We'll have Richard on O'Rear and Walker on Koch -- I like both of our guys. On the flipside, I'm more worried about their guard play if we're not on point defensively. They pass well and are unselfish. Maybe be another prime opportunity to pull out the zone and force them to shoot -- only 31% from beyond the arc.

This also may be the type of game RJ can shine in because he could create some matchup problems if he comes out confident and hits a couple threes. When he went to the tin last night, I got excited because it's hard to guard a guy that can shoot that well and drive, especially when he has height. KD is another guy that could benefit from this as well.

They seem to be a guard oriented team this year (to many stats to back it up but short summary-three guards=three with the most minutes played)...not like in years past. This is shaping up to be a close race to the conference championship. It will be a must win for UNI. At 1 and 2 there isn't much room for them to lose another one. As for us, 3 and 1 will put us in the upper level of the conference and the race will be on. 2 and 2 seperates the leaders and throws us in the wolf pack. Important game.....yep sure think it is. Keep evolving Sycamores and lets make a run at the title. Go Sycamores!!!!

PS Get healthy Dwayne and Kelly. We need you.

I think we get consecutive win 11 in the Hulman Center. I concur with the opinions expressed about having the advantage with 3, 4 and 5. I'm not so sure we don't have the advantage at the guard slots also. I didn't get to see or even listen to last night's game. From what I have read, I feel we can play with anyone in the Valley. I didn't say beat everyone, but we can certainly hold our own with them. If Lathan and/or Kelly are back and contribute to the cause we will be very hard to beat at home and will bread that jinx on the road.

I love our team full strength against UNI because we are more athletic than they are and we are a deeper squad. However without Lathan and Kelly I think it comes down to Odum vs Kwadzo Ahelegbe. If Ahelegbe works Odum over we will get beat but if Odum can hold his own or win that matchup then we are in business. O'Rear and Koch make a pretty good tandem up front but they have nooo depth behind either one of them. They lack depth all over and athleticism on the wings. If Lathan plays 65 Trees 59 UNI. If he does not Trees 61 UNI 63.

In a nail-biter... Should be a heck of a ball game, really looking forward to it. I am really expecting a good crowd also. 5k to 6k wouldn't be out of reach, I understand a few larger organizations in town have this game set as their employee appreciation night. That allows that employee to receive up to 4 free tickets for the game. Should improve the attendance - I'd guess, plus it being a Friday night should help!

Being the Friday before classes start, you'd think that there would be some students there, too. I know, I know - that's a taboo topic, but let's face it, 3/4 of them will be back in the dorms on Friday...to get a head start on studying...

I'd love to see 7,000 at the game. A stretch, I know, but what an atmoshere it would create!!!

Oh, forget my dream of 7,000. I just saw it's on TV. Nice way to keep the crowd down...:violent:

...I would love to be wrong...

How ironic. A locally televised game likely means that those in Indy who might not have been able to see the game unless they drove to HC, actually can watch a "pirated" version being shown on Channelsurfing.net! That sucks too~

Let's just be grateful the Colts are playing LATE on Sunday... sarcasm intentional.

I'll likely be in attendance for my first ISU game. Probably will be riding solo, but I'm looking forward to what should be an exciting matchup!

Couple things...to me, it makes more sense to put Walker on O'Rear and Richard on Koch...Koch is too fast for Walker and O'Rear is too big for Richard. Also, per guard play, that is where UNI is most experienced at...Ahelegbe, Moran and Sonnen all return from last season. Odum may have his hands full with Kwadzo. Home game...I think the Syc's win barely.

Anybody that calls themselves a Sycamore fan should have their butt in HC Friday night barring major weather or health issues.

Terre Haute South and West Vigo also have home games, so I won't be in attendance. I wish I could be there, but I can't.

How about having to direct a pep band double header in Indy? LAME. I'll be tearing up the iPhone line that night to keep up!
