I've been following him on Tweeter and he remarks that he has been in Terre Haute. Is he enrolled in Summer school? He frequently mentions hangin' with Lathan and McWhorter. Anybody know for certain what the deal is with him?

He is working out with the team and he rooms with Lathan.
Well neither kid would be eligible for this year. Both would come in with the 2012 class. If we are trully after the Gonzaga kid, then Smith will not be available this year.
I'm a little curious too SSOM, but I think that horse left the barn. It's really not important whether it's this year or next year.

Goldens article on Manny sheds some light on Smith.
"Arop will use the scholarship intended for Khristian Smith, who is currently a non-qualifier. Smith still intends to play basketball at ISU and is still trying to change his academic status. He is enrolled for the 2011-12 academic year, but can only have limited contact with the team and cannot practice or play until he is in good academic standing per NCAA regulations"
I also think he loses a year of eligibility doesnt he? If he becomes eligible he has 3 years to play? Someone with more know on this chime in please. I had that pop in my head lookin at Jasons eligibility chart.
I thought we were out of scholarships??
Maybe someone went on an academic scholie?
That may be the case, but I am sure that Smith isn't the recipient of an academic scholarship. Possibly another incoming frosh but obviously, not Khristian. I'd say we all need to sit back and see how all this plays out. I hope that Khristian is in summer school, as I have heard he will be. Then it is up to him if he makes it or not.Maybe someone went on an academic scholie?
