Anyone know what the heck this is? Is it the old Hulman Center court? Is it in a silo-type building? There are hay bales and an ESPN banner.

HAHAHHA! That's awesome. I've got 2 pretty good guesses.

1. Don Smith

1A. Greg Gibson

Why?? Because they can... Both live on land, both live in the country - I'm thinking hay bales here... lol I don't know who would have this other than them?? Doubt that they gave it to Royce as his exit gift? ROFL!!

That is the old court that was in HC when we won the MVC back in 2001 with Menser. I don't know who would have that, but it's pretty cool what they have done with it.

Posted by U of M Golf10...
Know anyone that went to the University of Michigan to play golf?

That's a hoop building; pretty cheap and quick to build.

Is that the actual floor from HC? might be but it's not the entire floor...
If not, you can buy basketball flooring anywhere; you can paint any wood floor to look like the HC...

There's an ohio state flag in one of the shots as well; that's a bit strange for a UM grad (though there are MANY 'UMs'...

Nice play to play hoop in the backyard though

Who ever can solve this should get a prize... Jason?? That is the Sycamores old floor, I'm certain of it. Who else would have a wood floor and just have that painted like that?? No way... Lol

It's even got the media lines on both baselines, that's the floor - it's gotta be??

I'm certain of it too... it even has the Volleyball plugs in the floor.. I noticed them at half-court. You aren't going to put those in there if it's a "replica"...

I watched the other videos but didn't notice anyone. Maybe some of you historians can do that and deduce who owns it?

Why? What if you want to play volleyball?

And doesn't the volleyball team usually play in the Arena?

You are right... I should have thought of the fact that someone that wanted a replica of the ISU Basketball floor REALLY only wanted it for a volleyball court. My fault.

Yes, they usually play in the arena... doesn't change the fact that they HAVE played in Hulman Center and the old floor had the volleyball anchors in it. I don't know if the new floor does or not (don't think it does... but maybe it does in case we ever host post-season games).

My thoughts are; it's NOT the floor from HC but maybe from a elem / jr or sr high school; it came with the volleyball mounts. OR the owner bought the flooring from a supplier and added the volleyball mounts. Shoot, they may play tennis as well...

if I had the $$$$ to put that in my backyard; you can bet I'd add volleyball mounts. Why limit yourself? I mean if $$$$ wasn't a problem for the owner, he/she/they wouldn't have used a hoop building.

They build a FULL-SIZE basketball court AND a regulation volleyball court AND an Olympic sized pool.

Your prerogative..
Wonder what happened to that old ISU floor anyway?? hmm... seems much simpler that way... instead of repainting everything.. and getting ISU's permission, etc.

Tennis on a BBall court... really? You think Wimbledon would be fast... wow.

Who knows; other schools have used their old floors as fundraisers; can't remember if State did that when they FINALLY upgraded from that nasty tartan.

The owner may use that facility to whack tennis balls around with their kids.

It really doesn't matter; I simply believe it's more economical to install my OWN floor and paint it however I want than buying the old floor from ISU.

That is the old HC floor. Asked a few people today in the office. I could not get a name of who has the floor at this time. Thay sold that floor a few years back to help pay for the new floor.

Also the last time the MVC VB Champs come to ISU they played in the HC!
