I've seen where Terre Haute is now on Live PD. Saw some videos and I am glad all the crazies now get to represent my city well .

People were going crazy on social media about the incident on Saturday night. To my eyes I thought it was handled in a reasonable manner. I thought the police officer had a right to feel threatened and needed to retrain the individual that was interrupting his traffic stop. When people are coming out from their houses and crowding the scene, safety becomes compromised. Did you see it that way?
Ya pretty much...
I mean - watching a TV show we've got no real idea how many prior contacts these offers might have had with some of these people. Maybe things have gotten out of control in the past - maybe they haven't? We will never know.
The mom or whatever was out of line and when she pushed the cop to get off her son that was about the end of that for her.
That said - I've watched the show a lot and given the level of threat that I was watching it wasn't the best police work. You got the kid that gets thrown on the ground for being mouthy. You got one guy standing over watching closely - clearly unhappy but not being violent. Then you got mom who was out of line and crossed the line when she pushed the cops to get off her son... Sooo I guess I can see both sides. It went from zero arrests to 5 arrests in 5 minutes - it didn't have to end that way.
You’re out of your lane. The officer did a great job. He’s on a traffic stop, alone, with at least 2 highly agitated family members coming out of the house. One of whom will not stop yelling and walks behind him, which is something an officer is trained to not let happen if possible. Then, after telling the subject to calm down, he yells again. An arrest is totally acceptable and necessary at that time. Then the male doesn’t go into cuffs and attempts to pull away, it’s appropriate to put him on the ground. The mother is an automatic arrest. Then the officer did excellent by controlling the first guy and waiting for backup to arrive before finishing that arrest and directing responding officers to the woman who was the main issue. As far as the other 2 males, the one who got shoved is committing what’s called obstruction of justice. You cannot step in between an officer and someone they’re arresting to try and keep the officer from making said arrest. I will say, you could not see what the final male did to get arrested.
There are 3 main charges that were committed: Disorderly Conduct, Obstruction of Justice and Resisting Law Enforcement.
I don't get why any city would agree to be on that show. It makes no sense.
According to this, they get no compensation for it:

And many now see it as bad publicity (from the article below):
Police departments in Bridgeport, Connecticut; Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Streetsboro, Ohio, decided not to renew their contracts to be on the program since it premiered in October 2016 as some local government leaders concluded the national spotlight on criminal activity overshadowed the positive things happening in their hometowns.
