2020-21? I'd put a couple of bucks on the wandering COVID protocols that season

Laravia, key, Williams, and neese were a pretty good core. The rest of team were borderline replacement level players that season. No bench and no legitimate point guard.

*with all due respect to one of our favorite sycamores Julian Larry, he wasn’t very good that year. Don’t at me

True - and I forgot that Stephens missed that whole season with an achilles injury - but still....

cam bacote will always be one of my favorite under the radar type guys. I liked his attitude on and off the court (cold blooded). I remember he missed several games to be with his family. I thought that the team was better when he returned.

Kailex Stephens getting injured plus the coaching staff whiffing on Tobias Howard and Randy miller were huge. Ndaw was not a basketball player and it really showed. That core had a lot of potential though.

hard to figure out how we only went 15-10 with this roster:
Cam Bacote - Was okay
Tre Williams - Inexperienced
Kalix Stephens - Hurt
Cooper Neese
Jared Hankins - Not D1
Julian Larry - A Freshman / Inexperienced
Tyreke Key - Missed two games with injury
Sam Mervis - Not D1
Tobias Howard Jr. - Wasn't any good
Cobie Barnes - Not D1
Ndongo Ndaw - Not D1
Randy Miller Jr. - Wasn't any good
Nick Hittle - Not D1

This is what happens when you are a) inexperienced b) have a roster with multiple scholarship players that are not D1 talents c) have guys who just weren't any good Howard/Miller

You literally only had Williams (young), LaRavia (young), Neese and Key who also missed a couple games as I recall dealing with that shoulder injury.

That team finished just about where they should have... TBH

Heard Bacote is suiting up to play for Drake next year.

This team finished 119 at Kenpom (not bad nor great). This was the year of the wonky back to back mvc schedule with no or very few fans attending game. Isu lost to Loyola in the semifinals of arch madness.

Isu finished regular season conference play winning 10 of their last 12, which included a 7 game winning string during that stretch.

Johnson was lost for the season with a stress fracture in his foot and then tried to rob another student, so there's that.
