Isn't he the one that usually likes us, kind of like your big brother's friend who is a nice guy and sticks up for you for some reason?

This is curious to me. What has changed in Lunardi's mind today versus any other time in the season? Lunardi hasn't had us in projections all year until just now.

Yes we're 10-3, but it's a rather soft 10-3. Have the other upper-mid-major teams fallen of a bit to open up room for ISU?

College Insider's Mid-Major Top 25 has us at #6 -- http://www.collegeinsider.com/mens-mid-major-top-25.php

They don't consider the A10 a mid-major conference, but has also has all five in front of us in the tournament.

Also, I prefer this link: http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/bracketology/_/iteration/216

If you click on teams, you can see exploded schedule info. There are teams in front of us on the MM Top 25 that doesn't have a single Top 100 RPI win. We've got two in ND and Belmont. For example, Toledo is 12-1 with a RPI of 44, only loss to Kansas. However, not a single win against Top 100 and unless some MAC teams find a magic pill, only Ohio is in the Top 100 -- sitting at 90.

Interesting. Maybe our resume doesn't look as bad as I thought; although, the selection committee could still very easily pick a high-major bubble team with 12+ losses rather than us with as assumed 8-10 losses.

Pretty sure we entered his field because we are one of teams tied for 1st in the league. He always put the current leader of the conference in the field as if they would earn the automatic bid. Wichita hasn't played a game yet so they cant be used as the auto bid. As a 14 seed I think that's the only way we would be in his field. Way too early to look at that stuff seriously, but still fun to see our name up there!

He mentioned us on twitter before the game had started as one of the teams that had an Important game yesterday.

you gotta love how we are starting to get mentioned again. But i for one am sick and tired of being on the bubble, we have been on the bubble for 3 years now. lets not have any letdowns and solidify our spot in the NCAA field before arch madness!!!!

I honestly don't think anyone has ever said Indiana State has a "bad" resume persay.

I think members of this forum were frustrated that our resume wasn't what it should be.

We had Belmont down big on the road.

We should have beat Tulsa and who knows what kind of wonders that would have done for us.

But it's never been a dire "that bad" situation. Anytime you go 9-3 in the non conference you can't really get too critical.

Pretty much sums it up for me. If we just beat Tulsa we most likely get a shot at Harvard. Even if we lost that our resume would look much better and fans would be muchhh more satisfied with that 9-3 non conf. As is its sort of ho hum just treading water.

woulda, coulda, shoulda though... I am over that and ready for this team to hopefully pick up a couple key road dubs in the next week!

Agreed. Most of us would have predicted 9-3 or 10-2 with the losses being at Notre Dame, at St. Louis, against Harvard in the GASO any at Belmont (pick any combination you want out of those four). Tulsa is the only bad loss, and every at large team has a bad loss, just happens when you play 30 games.

I don't know how he does it, but Lunardi is usually just about perfect with his final bracket. I think he got 68/68 last year.

The fact that Lunardi has us as a 14 seed and not one of the "last teams in" or one of the "last four byes", means that he's giving us the benefit of the doubt to win the MVC tourney...and WSU at a #2 seed would be the at large from the MVC.

The Tulsa loss though kind of counts as two losses, or a loss and a half, because it resulted in us playing Alaska Anchorage.

Think the Shockers would just about have to go undefeated until the MVC championship game to lose the Valley tournamant and still be a 2 seed. Unless they get a boost of some kind for last year's Final Four run.

You mean the kund of "boost" Butler gets every year?!?!

For argument sake...if WSU goes 16-2 in the MVC and then 2-1 in tourney, they'd be at 31-3 on the season, I could see that being a #2 seed. Less than 30 wins, and no, not a #2 seed.

But the reality is, very very few in the national media don't think WSU will go undefeated in conference play. Can't wait to prove them wrong (fingers crossed).
