Since you brought it up. I'm just kind of curious about the story about how/why you got this board got started. I know there was another ISU board at the time. What was your inspiration to start this if you have some time to divulge?

Yeah, the old ISU Hoop board and Scout.com were the two Sycamore boards that were out there. The jist is I hated the old threaded format where you had to click on every individual post as it just absolutely killed the flow of a conversation and knew I could do better.

I actually had been developing and selling forums since the late 90's as well -- there was actually a pretty big market. I was a co-founder on what was called BasketballBoards (now BasketballForum.com) and we sold it off to a Internet media company VerticalScope. Because of that, I had good knowledge of the vBulletin forum software and started it up.

The rest is history.

I joined in Sept of 2007 after a google search (I think). Either that or I found this site because someone posted about it on the old Sycamore message board. This means that I joined this board almost one month after my youngest child was born. How time flies.......

Jason, thank you for creating such a great place for all us diehards. Been here since Dec of 2007 and loved every minute of it. Whether we come to celebrate, bitch and moan, or somewhere in-between, we have the best damn discussion board around in which to do it. Thanks again!

I came to the forum in December 08’ while I was still at Indiana State and running track. My forum name then was “Morgan” for two reasons, first and foremost I came on here to stir shit up and second I wanted to do so anonymously - back then being on campus daily I had quite a bit of first hand knowledge and to be able to post some it required me to be nameless… Those were some good times back then!!

Several years later and dust-up’s with forum members - a brief self-imposed absence and I came back under SycamoreStateofMind and no longer anonymous.

Not many days have passed since 2008 where I haven’t visited this forum on a daily basis!

October 2009…I was a late bloomer.

I began posting on some terrible cbs sports message board with like 2 other people and just knew there had to be a better place. I lurked on here for a while until Jason prompted me to post more.

Can’t thank you enough Jason for all that you do. I contend that this site and your continued commitment to keeping it going has done more for sycamore athletics that just about any alumni in history. I wouldn’t be nearly the fan and passionate supporter of ISU if it wasn’t for this community.

Hi my name is Andrew and I too once posted under a pseudo name….

November 2008 when I was in high school with a pea brain. Ended up leaving that behind in college (2010) and can’t imagine not having SP to talk Sycamore everything.

I probably haven’t visited 10 other schools boards my whole life, but I lol when I do. Amazes me that we have the holy grail of college message boards.

My profile says I've been here since January 2009. I think I accidentally found the forum one night at work wasting a little time surfing. Even though I don't always agree with the opinions expressed I usually look every day.
