I am taking our Sycamores in this one. I think we will build a big lead, SIU will work their way back into it and be a tight finish. We will put all the lessons learned this season to use to hold on and secure the victory. ISU 81 SIU 77!

We have to assume we'll see a better SIU team on Thursday than we did on Sunday. They're a better overall defensive team than what they showed, but they do seem to be slumping at the wrong time. They've lost 5 out of their last 6 games, with 3 of those losses being at home. Also, interestingly enough, they've lost all of their neutral court games this year (not counting their neutral site win over DII Florida Tech).

KenPom says we'll lose 80-79, but the margins are razor thin. You should expect the 8/9 game to be evenly matched, and this one should be too. We should feel confident after our win on Sunday, and as long as our shots are falling, I believe we are a better team than SIU. I think we win, but it'll be a close one.

First game is always the toughest in the coaches eyes. The keys for us is to play defense (avg), rebound, and not turn the ball over.

Hensley's foul trouble early set the tone for the game. Will he stay on the floor this time?

To me, SIU looked like they've quit on the season....like they already have one foot in the portal.

Trees win it 82-69.

Definitely some curious body language. Only like 3 guys looked like they were playing hard the whole game.

This seems like a game that you just have to jump on them early. They appear to be done or nearly done with the season, we just have to prove them right. Don't want them lingering around.

SIU opens at 1.5 favs on FanDuel. Guessing that line will move a bit toward the Trees over the next 24 hours....

That's actually a little lower than I thought it would be. I was expecting SIU to open at -2.5. It will be interesting to see what the line does the next 22 hours.

ST. LOUIS – Indiana State men's basketball plays Southern Illinois to open the 2025 State Farm MVC Tournament, nicknamed Arch Madness, on Thursday, March 6. Indiana State earned the No. 9 seed, while SIU earned the No. 8 seed. The game tips off in St. Louis at 1 p.m. ET from the Enterprise Center on ESPN+ and 105.5 The Legend.

It's less than 24 hours until we tip off at Arch Madness and I have to wonder...

Who will be tomorrow's hero?
Or will it be a team-hero situation?
Who will shoot more threes, JD, Vorst, or Harding?
Will we have two 20-point scorers?
Will we have four+ guys in double-digits?
What will Bruno's stat line look like?
Will Karl get any screen time?
When was the last time we won back-to-back games vs an MVC foe?
Can you name the three guys on our team who have played in every game?
Did you know we exceeded 4,000 in attendance for every home game this year?
Could we be the first team in Arch Madness history to win four games in four days?

Getting ready to hit the road over to StL. This feels like a game we should win by 10+, which unfortunately doesn't give me as a fan a whole lot of confidence. Hope our team is ready and not overconfident after blowing them out a few days ago. I'd love nothing more than for us to win today and to send Drake packing to the NIT tomorrow.
