depends on the hospital, depends on the patient

i had a friend pass away, post-surgery because the med staff were lax in their hygiene as they made their rounds

she wasn't allowed visitors at the time, so it could only have been the staff

Irrelevant, nobody was saying it was only this year. Im aware that they wear masks now. Im also aware that some of the most safety stringent hospitals in the country still have outbreaks with their staff. Im not saying the situation is bad but it seems that the only thing that is going to stop it is good weather OR they could do what they did with SARS and just quit reporting everything but hospitalizations and deaths.
 
Dammit man the weather has nothing to do with how this virus is passed. Its very, very simple. Wearing a mask greatly decreases your chance of contracting Covid 19. One of the reasons we are seeing this dramatic spike is the boneheaded refusal of people to follow these very simple rules. Wear a fucking mask. Wash your hands. Follow the Social distancing guidelines. My daughter has Lupus and you are a personal danger to her. Your reasoning that outbreaks still occur in hospitals is a excuse to not follow guidelines is delusional. THATS WHERE THE SICK PEOPLE ARE!
 
If the mask works so great then why can't the pro mask crowd just wear them and shut up about it? I mean if they work so great you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

Vigo County has had 70 deaths this year from COVID. I'd be curious to see how many non-COVID deaths we've had since March. So far we are averaging around 8 per month for COVID.

I also saw a more recent article on either WTWO or WTHI (I clicked on it from Facebook) where funeral homes were denying being overrun and that the chances of this county ever using the trucks for COVID deaths was slim to none.

Not quite factually accurate. Yes, they've had an verbal agreement in place (basically a RFQ) for use of trucks as part of its emergency preparedness plan. Most disaster recovery plans will include preferred vendors with tentative agreements in case of need because they can't waste time negotiating rates when an actual crisis hits. They've actually executed the agreement and reserved four trucks. That's a signal the need for implementation of their plan.

According to multiple news articles, October deaths in Vigo county were up 45% year over year. I don't know how much morgue space is available in Vigo county, but if they're actually executing the agreement, that's not a good sign. That likely means deaths hit a statistical threshold where there isn't enough if demand remains consistent.

For fuck sake. This far into this BS and some of you still are debating whether a mask works? Studies show if YOU wear a mask and THEY wear a mask, your chances of getting the virus drop substantially (down to as low as 5 percent). That's why EVERYONE should wear a damn mask and if you're out in public and you choose not to wear one you're a selfish asshole. You're increasing the likelihood you'll get others sick if you have the virus.
 
And other studies have shown they do not reduce the risk. I really don't know. I haven't done any studies. What I do know is that Dr Fouchi is a lier. The question is this, did he lie when he said masks work or when he said masks do not work?

If you consider Dr. Fauchi to be a liar, what would call the current President? I believe the ONLY thing he's ever said to be factually correct is his name.

Fauchi has FORGOTTEN more about infectious diseases than Scott Atlas has ever learned.

Never Trumper eh? All fine and dandy to not be a fan of his, but posts like this are just plain ignorant. “ONLY thing he’s ever said to be factually correct.” Is that a factual statement?

y’all will be a lot happier if you could come on this site and talk about Sycamore basketball. My grandma and grandpa and both in the hospital right now with COVID. It sucks, but they will both be home this week and will recover.

Just saw on twitter that ISU had to withdraw from the gulf coast showcase because of too many covid positives.
 
How do football teams play week in and week out? And we have to cancel all these tournaments with a sport where 6-7 guys are needed?
