Not again. Do we really have to see Michigan State in final four again? I suppose Duke will win now and the final four will be ruined.

Gotta admit, every time the Spartans reach the big game, it always resurrects memories of the BIGGEST GAME, and the Sycamores are forever tied to that moment. It's free PR.
I saw Magic along the sideline today, and I'm sure he'll be in the 'Nap jiving it up w/ the Bird Man next week!

Every year I go into the tournament hoping Duke and Michigan St. lose. Once that's done I can relax.

I really like Tom Izzo he is a in my opinion a first class coach . I hate Mich. state but Izzo is a great coach.

So between this thread and the Butler-hating thread, I guess that leaves West Virginia and as the Sycamorepride favorite.

I will always root for in-state teams or Big 10 teams unless we are playing them.
If anybody on here is from Indiana and roots for a Big East or ACC team, unless they went to school there, well, I have little patience for that. they are just weird. I suppose a person like that would root for the lakers or Yankees.

Ok I can get behind this lol but, rooting for Indiana I cannot....but I do know that the nastiest rivalry I have ever seen is the UCLA USC rivalry...and trust me when UCLA or USC was in a national championship game LA was firmly behind them!

Just to clarify, if you are from Indiana, a state that does not have a professional baseball team you cannot be a Yankees fan? Which team should you be a fan of? I would suppose either the Cubs or the Reds or maybe the Indians or possibly the White Sox because they are close in proximity? What!:krazy:
Isn't Notre Dame part of the Big East and an Indiana Team? Is that okay?

Cheer for whomever you want! To me as long as you don't cheer against the Sycamores and you wear ISU gear when you are lucky enough to find it, what does it matter.

I haven't figured that out yet myself...especially when I get the proximity argument from a Titans fan...Shouldn't you like the Colts, Rams, Bears and possibly the Bengals if proximity is the thing? I will have to say this about Butler fans tho...they don't bandwagon...they have a very loyal fanbase that has been so polite every time I have been there...in fact I think Evansville fans are more douchebaggish than Butler fans...I remember when they were lucky to finish 4th or 5th in the mid 2000s and they would still be packed as well as any mid-major....

I don't have a problem with Butler fans, but they have been good most of the past decade (made the Sweet Sixteen in 2003) so it's been a while since they had to deal with losing. One down year doesn't drive people away.

It was a couple years in the middle from my sophomore year to my senior year of High school they werent very good to be quite honest....

In general...

it's the attitude that they are now a National Power...

c'mon -- put them in the Valley over the past 2 decades and how do they fare?? They sure as heck wouldn't sweep the MBB; nor would they have won the Valley 9 times (since 1997)

the chatter about the 'duke of the midwest' puh-leeze; maybe the gonzaga of the great lakes... but duke??!??

and their refusal to continue the State/buttler series except as a 'home only'

As of today, they have as many NCAA DIv I Final Fours as we do - ONE.

I'll see their 1924 AAU title and match it with our 1950 NAIB title; their 1929 'title,' well, that's about as good as our Poll title(s) from 1979. Believe they have maybe 50 more wins over the same span

They need to get OVER themselves
