I don't know anything about any of the others, but to get a 1-11 team(no matter the reasons) his 1st year, then into the playoffs for the 1st time in 30 years in his 2nd year, I don't see a better nominee!:jawdrop2:

Agree -- C. Klieman is driving someone's ship but the bison had a great year. Spack is still 'building' the Deadbirds -- STILL wish we'd closed out
that game!

Seems like most of the other nominees had as good or better season than we BUT i don't think ANY of them were coming off an 1-11 season.

If Coach Sanford is NOT one of the Top 3 vote-getters... he's being stiffed!

Coach Sanford is recognized as one of the top 20 FCS coaches in the land. Our Sycamores are recognized as one of the top 24 FCS teams in the land. This is a good time to be a Tree. Congrats to all!

And I don't know if you all realized this. But we lose less than 10 players this year. I think the number is around 7 or 8 actually.

We lose 9, but that includes some key players on offense (Perish, Logan, Jelovic, Harris, Johnson, O'Leary, Reyes). On defense we lose Layne and Tuuu. Layne is a 3-year starter, and has been solid through his career. There have been several DBs that have started periodically that should be able to step in. The key is obviously at QB--will Matt Adams or Trent Lancaster step in, or will there be a transfer in the mix.

Ya, a few big losses in there.

I wonder if there is a chance to get the Etling kid from Purdue. Ive heard that thrown around but the internet likes to make up facts.

I honestly liked what I saw from Matt Adams. He showed good pocket presence. Lead us on a drive to win the game. unfortunately Illinois state came back.

One of my daughter's classmate's dad is a Purdure grad/fan and he says that they have brought that up on their forum

Is Etling better than Matt Adam? I really liked what I saw from him vs. Illinois State, and we all know how FBS transfers generally work out. Perish and Fouch have certainly been exceptions to the rule at QB. I think we'd be fine at QB with Adam.
