Maybe we shouldn't be so hard on our guys. I'm watching Mississippi jump all over IU for offensive rebounds. They are 8th in the SEC according to Sagarin and LSU is 4th. I see why had trouble with them inside athletically.

Well it's really pretty simple as long as your are limiting the number of 2nd shot opps. the opponent gets then you could get away with being our rebounded. But obviously if you are getting out boarded on one end of the floor then you are usually going to have trouble on the other end of the floor.
We can't force the other team to shoot a low % shot from the field and miss but let them get an Off. board for a high % easy put back - we will not win any big games like that. Force them into a low % shot and then crash the boards HARD! We are deep, don't worry about being to physical. If you earn a foul then so be it - don't allow an off. rebound.
I hope they will get better when they get used to going all out and having someone to come in and relieve them.
Probably the best rebounder we ever had based on size and ability, Jim Cruse said he didn't understand why a player would NOT go after EVERY rebound.
Cruse was 6'4" and got close to 20 rebounds in conference games more than once.
was to follow your shot.....he did that pretty well......he used to say that there was no sin in missing a shot...but it was a sin in not following it up and getting a put back.......he said that rebounding was all about hustle and wanting to.....
How about those Hoosiers? lol They barely beat South Carolina State, then get blowen out by Ole Miss and then lose to mighty Boston U.....
come on now. be nice.
